I thought it would be cool to see what shows you have all missed for one reason or another. You know, the one that you totally regret missing, or were pissed you passed on going to, or the group canceled or broke up, etc....
Mine is definitely, At the Drive In, 2000 Chicago, had tickets, but they went on their "indefinite hiatus" and only reemerged later, as the Mars Volta (thank you Jesus)
Followed by, passing on seeing Sublime, cause at the time I just thought they were "alright"
If you ask my dad he'll tell you about having tickets to see Zeppelin at Chicago Stadium, then Bonham died.
Bonnaroo '04, on Sunday, we were soggy and my boyfriend had developed a wicked bad cold sore (he says it was more like a second head), so we decided to go home early, missing David Byrne......then, a year or two ago he played at the Ryman in Nashville, and we couldn't afford to go, so TWICE now we have missed one of my very favorite artists.....
Also, I saw them, but at Bonnaroo last year, I did not fully appreciate the Mars Volta, so we hung back and sat and listened rather than being up in the crowd. I regret that just as much as if we'd missed them.
We have now vowed that if we ever get the chance to see either David Byrne or The Mars Volta we will go no matter what the cost.

My biggest concert regret was passing on a chance to see the Dead play the 5/8/77 show at Cornell University. I'd seen the Springfield and New Haven shows and figured how much better could it get, besides I had exams coming up... Dumb, dumb, dumb. All's I heard for a year after was what an incredible night it was.
A couple of years back I couldn't get a night off work and missed my only shot at seeing the Ramones playing at a local club. That ranks right up there too.
My mom actually had tickets to see Elvis the night after he croaked on the crapper...

The Dead at SPAC during the Wave That Flag tour... Wanted to go sooooo bad but couldnt swing it cause of Phish tour of course... Read the setlist and heard more about it and i hated myself for not making it....
Oh yah and Elvis was supposed to play here in portland maine about a week after he died, i hear people talk about how they had tickets sometimes...
Sublime is/will be a classic band of our time and im very envious of anyone who got a chance to see them...
Back in the mid-80s my friends older brother was going to see the Ramones in Kansas City. I really wanted to go too but my parents wouldn't let me, as I was only like 13 or 14, and they'd heard about the moshing and destruction at Ramones shows. I considered sneaking off to the show without permission, but wussed out.
Trey this past fall in Utica. I was going to school a little over an hour away and was doing nothing that night. I just had totally spaced on the fact that Trey was coming upstate. Needless to say I missed a killer show and the closest thing to a Phish reunion that has happened yet. (Fishman and Gordon joined just Trey on stage for a some songs)
Trey at the Ryman in Nashville. I had to make the choice between that show or Bonnaroo. Needless to say I chose Roo. I hear that the Ryman show was great. Sadly enough I missed Trey last year at Bonnaroo as well. But I still stand by my choice.
Mine would definitely be the '01 Chicago Radiohead show. One of my friends was on the ball and picked up four tickets, but there were five guys who wanted to go. I was dead broke and ended up the odd man out.

Lollapalooza 1994:
Pumpkins, Beasties, Green Day, the Breeders, etc.
Basically a big post-Woodstock '94 fest that sank into the mud of Samsula (between New Smyrna Beach & DeLand, Fla) and broke the hearts of thousands of concert starved Floridians.
(This was back in the day when there was nothing between bar and arena in Central Florida).

The Black Keys - 2 shows at little brothers, once tries to get underage girlfriend in (this was awhile ago) other time it sold out....Next time around they moved to the bigger Newport...
White Stripes 2001 little brothers, $8 dollars, 300 people, never again...never forgive myself for just skipping it.
I was supposed to see DMB a few times..never ended up going. I also missed Rage Against The Machine and Beastie Boys. Missing shows sucks...I really hope I don't have to sacrifice anything too bad at Bonnaroo.
Big Cypress. My brother and his friends went, but I couldn't because I was only 11 or 12 at the time. I begged and pleaded but it just didn't happen. Ah well, my brother at least brought back a t-shirt and some photos.
also it woulda been cool to see jerry play just once.
Yeah, seeing Jerry play would have been great. Although I was only 7 in 1995 so I doubt it would have been enjoyable or memorable. My friend Jacob saw Jerry once and said he wished he had never seen him because he just wants more; apparently seeing Jerry is like smoking crack.
