Umphreak's dead on, you can't go wrong with Yuengling, it's a little sweet, but I've found it actually tastes better out of a can than a bottle anyways.
Yuengling is great! Even the light is good. It's perfect for when its blistering hot outside because it's pretty crisp and refreshing but has a much better taste than your average domestic. I don't know about anywhere else...but here in Pittsburgh I normally find specials like 13.99 for a case of Yuengling.

I really wish yuengling was sold in more places. Me and my friends always make sure to stock up whenever we go thru PA. Brought a keg and a few cases back over the summer. Its hard to find good beer in cans and yuengling is definitely an exception
Yeungling is definately a good choice. I think a case of Sparks would do the body good. It's a malt beverage/energy drink. It tastes like Smarties, which is good if you can get into that kinda thing. It doesn't taste like there's alcohol in it either, so it's pure energy deliciousness.
All good suggestions. taking this a bit further, lets define "can". I've got a "can" of Weltenburger Kloster Bier" in my refrigerator. Now, I have to admit the "can" is 169 floz (500cl). On ice, the can, (that comes with its own self tap) is good for 10 - 15 hours. Not easy to carry in one hand but a quality option. The 'cans' are available in a variety of flavors from most quality liquor stores. Anyone that handles true import beers will have other can options; especially if they ask THEIR distributor. Then in smaller cans you can get Fosters and Heineken in 24.5 OZ cans that are much more easily transported. Hell, in most cases I'd like to walk with two beer anyway. Depending on where you live the distributer might have other beers in the larger size can made famous by Fosters. Lastly, as was mentioned earlier, Bodingtons is available as is Guinness and Murphy's Irish Stout in the cans with the Nitrogen caps at the bottom. Anyone want to meet up for a 169 floz beer tasting from "the can" on Thursday night?
i've been thinking about getting a couple growlers of local beer and sneaking them in, i know at christmas time i was able to take one in on my carry on, but i dont think they realized what it was...would a growler of beer explode if i put it in as luggage...or even bottled beer for that matter
Despite the face that all luggage areas are pressurized I've had little luck bringing bottled beer back from places, around the US, as luggage. Especially beer with some character (micro brews). Usually half or better of the bottles loose the seal, they don't leak, just become flat. A little better luck taking the beer as carry on - however, technically you can't bring your own drinks on the plane so they are not supposed to let you past 'security' with the beer. The worst experience I had was coming back from England many years ago. Three good bottles of beer nicely packed. The bottles were almost empty when I arrived home, most of the contents having soaked into a webster's dictionary and my cloths - everything had already started to mold.
hearing that a growler would be the worst option, they screw the caps on by hand, everyone should bring some local beer from home and set up a mini beer tour, we could all try beers from all different regions.

I've been trying some brews and so far I'm liking Miller High Life (16 oz cans). I'll probably bring a dozen of those and some bottles hidden (K Cider is amazing, definitely bringing some of that. Probably some Abita Turbodog too). I'm not a huge drinker so I keep having to remind myself to stop planning for massive amounts of alcohol all for just a weekend, lol. Oh well it will be shared freely.

i'm not a massive drinker either, but last year i wasn't a smoker going in, and ended up resuming a pack a day habit for the weekend after being clean for a month
