I didn't see it, but my girlfriend said some dude chose to sing Ray Lamontagnes - Trouble..... I'm not a fan of the show, but I'm happy and surprised that Ray's music has spread that quickly....Even mainstream Idol knows of this talent. Ray's Live shows were cool and intimate at roo! I guess I was just sharing the info, because I'm a ray fan. And I'm glad others, even tools, are listening!!!!
I'm so glad you brought this up, because I too was thrilled to hear someone cover Ray.
I would love to see him on the '06 Roo line-up, but I read that one of the people in his band is getting married in June so he's not doing Roo. Boo-hoo.

taylor rocks.... there are a few decent singers on idol this year but taylor is by far the best..... he picks good songs and he's a musician!! he plays a killer harmonica :-)

The whole concept of american idol is kind of rediculous to me... I mean people spend their whole lives working at getting their music out and barely make ends meet. Some shmuck with a little vocal talent and good looks can wander onto american idol and become the hot new star (even if only for a few months)... and the only reason they make this person a star is because millions of people are impressionable enough to simply eat up whatever they're exposed to and think its wonderfull, thereby dumping their money into it...
Sorry i just realized that has nothing to do with Ray Lamontagne hehe... I dont think its a bad thing he got mentioned on idol or whatever, more of a coincindence... The kid just chose that song, thats all...

cool thing about taylor is that hes not a kid - and he actually is not typically attractive and i dont know - if anyone is going to win this thing i hope its him (yes im a dork)
There must be some sort of link between Bonnaroo and American Idol because William Hung was in the parade in '04 and Bo Brice was there in '05. I wonder if we'll see Taylor Hicks in June.
