I recommend supporting your local record shop. You can even get artwork with the songs. eMusic is also a good chioce if you enjoy independent releases.
I do support my local record shop. I have a bad addiction...one that....forces me to spend sometimes hundreds a month on music. iTunes gives me artwork..but they are evil and screw you with bonus tracks and I've already given them plenty of money too. I pretty much downloaded LimeWire to find some cool live and rare stuff. But what is this eMusic like?
i use limewire every now and then when i want individual tracks, random files, and other random stuff thats hard to find elsewhere. mainly because its the only good p2p program that runs on linux, never had TOO much trouble with misnamed or corrupted files. mainly i just use torrents though, mostly off of bt.etree.org. depending on what you download on limewire, it might not be legal, and people have gotten sued by the riaa for sharing on the gnutella network, however unlikely it may be.

eMusic is a pay per month program. I spend like 20 bucks a month for 90 downloads. You can preview all the tracks for like 30 seconds. You can get in without signing up, just enter your email. Really good if you like albums over single songs.
i like limewire..its mostly illegal and you do sometimes get mislabled or corrupt files but it gets the job done for the most part... i only use it when i cant find what i want on bit torrent....
and ya man ann arbor is one of the greatest citys in the world.... those buckeye fans just like to hate because they know in their heart that if god gave earth an enema it would would be inserted right into columbus at the 50 yard line
