I wait tables and I just got home. This table earlier sat down and the server greeted it, took their drink order and went to go get their drinks. I was at the computer putting in one of my table's orders. I keep hearing this "EXCUSE ME! EXCUSE ME!" So I finished what I was doing and walk up to the table. (Bear in mind that this is not even my table)
She says:
"Can we get some bread?"
Me:
"Absolutely, I'll get that right...."
"OR IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK???!!!"
"No..."
"IS IT? IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK??!!!"
"I'll go get you some bread, ma'am."
So I go in the back load up a basket of bread and take it out. The server who has the table is bringing out the drinks at the same time. I watched these people sit down, get immediately greeted so it's not like they were sitting there a long time and had anything to complain about. Anyway, he sits their drinks down and I overhear her say, "We're going to walk out." He says, "ok" and walks away to talk to his other table.
I then sit the bread on the table and she looks at me and says:
"You can take this bread and shove it up your ass!"
I can't even get mad at this lady. All the other tables are staring at her and she's making a complete fool of herself so my only response was:
"ok." and I walk away.
Apparently I learned later that after I left the room she took a piece of bread and threw it across the room. I wish I was there to see that. Then they walked out.
Like I said I couldn't even get mad, it was all quite humorous.
You mean Kak23 should've shoved the bread up his/her own ass? ;D
Sorry, I couldn't resist...
There's just no reasoning with people like that, all you can do is laugh sometimes. Although, holding in the laughter until after they've left is a good idea.....

I think what the lady was trying to tell you, was to try her new diet, you know the one where you shove food up your asss and crap out your mouth........

Yeah im a waiter too man and its true that you dont realize how many fucking WIEIRD ass people there are out there untill you work in a dining room... Some people will walk in and find one little thing to bitch about and from that point on EVERYTHING about the meal is a disaster, everything is horrible the resturant is a sh*thole and no one deserves respect anymore.... All you can do is laugh or shrug it off somehow... I've dealt with my fair share of crazies too man and you gotta love those old people that are on a mission to get SOMETHING for free... Anything they can. I work in a non corporate resturant that doesnt bend as much for the customers... If you go to Ruby Tuesdays or the Olive Garden and complain about something you'll get offered free meals, free deserts and they'll pretty much bend over for you in fear of someone contacting their higherups and getting in trouble.. We cant just run around giving stuff away for free just so people who werent happy when they came in can leave happy having gotten something for free. Our owners cant afford it....

you really should have taken the bread from the table and b-lined for a bathroom....youd no doubt get the "where are you taking my bread" response.....leaving it open for you to get the lady to crack a smile...
