Not like I am going, but interesting he is playing and not even a big ime slot. I was looking at the schedule and most bands have 45 min to an hour. MMJ with a 45 min set? Looks like Warped Tour, but with better bands. Anyways, here is the link:
Thats how it usually is for Coachella. Early bands get 30-45, then bands get progressively more time until the headliners get about 1.5 to 2 hours. However, the djs usually get 1.5 hours all day long. I think that the Kanye add is a good one, especially since he will probably be up there doing some stuff with Common. Coachella is a great festival. It really has it together, however, there are some bad things such as the short set times, the lack of good camping, and no late night sets.
But as for the short set times, it is not as big of a deal for most Coachella artists because alot of them only have one or two albums out. I dont even think Gnarls Barkely has an album out yet, and they get 30 minutes to play, which is fine. However, it sucks for bands that do normally play 1.5+ hour sets, because you get a little short changed. It is nice to be able to see 10 approximately hour long sets and bounce around all day, though.
Anyways, thats my rant on Coachella. I am getting remorse right now for not going, but you cant go to all the festivals. And you should check out the Coachella DVD that just came out a couple weeks ago. It is good stuff, with some nice performances on there. It definitely gives you a feeling for all the scenery.
I was about to hate on some Kanye, but then i realized as i open and read this thread and read it, my 5058 song shuffle is playing some Kanye. So i cant hate. .. .. lol
