David Bowie Walks the 'High Line' 2006-05-09 17:33:21 David Bowie will curate New York's first High Line festival in May 2007. A new arts and music festival, High Line will take place at a variety of venues alongside the High Line, a new public park being created from the abandoned elevated train tracks on New York City's West Side. In addition to music, the ten-day festival will feature visual art, performance and film. Each year a different creative force will serve as High Line's curator, selecting musicians and overseeing the festivals creative vision. Bowie promises a handful of "cultural mash-ups," featuring both well-known musicians and rising stars. Some of the younger artists Bowie has performed with recently include the Arcade Fire and the Polyphonic Spree. In addition to curating the festival's inaugural year, Bowie will perform an outdoor concert, his first New York appearance since 2003.
This whole thing sounds really interesting! Now that we know that Bowie will be in the states around the time of Bonnaroo, he could be a headliner next year.
