25 years from now noone will remember that McFarlane crap. Even if its fallen off of late the Simpsons is probably the greatest half hour "sitcom" of all time, and its likely no show will ever repeat the kind of run it has had.
Family Guy was the end all be all until they brought it back, and it has seemed to be lacking in quality lately. It is getting more repetitive with its jokes.

Couldn't agree with you more. It's still funny, but it is definitely missing something.
And as for American Dad, I always end up watching that show and bitching to my girlfriend about how stupid and unfunny it is for a half hour. Now I just like to watch it so I can bitch about it.
all last semester, i had an ongoing debate with one of my professors about why the simpsons is just a flat out, over all, better show than family guy. every tuesday and thursday before class started, we'd each pose a new arguement to each other.
family guy has a special little spot in my heart; there's nothing quite like getting real silly and laughing your ass off at family guy, but the simpsons, which at its core is better written, directed, produced, etc (i won't say "animated" because, even though it is, i know that the mcfarlane crew is of the "well, it's not supposed to be beautifully animated, so there" school) has gone on to transcended both family guy and itself.
in this genre of cartoons (30 minute "grown up" sitcom-esque cartoons), i also really enjoy futurama and king of the hill (which is a way better show than it's often given credit for [what a well developed cast of extremely likeable yet all around contemptible characters] though, despite my love, i think they should have made about 50% the total number of episodes they've actually made). but the simpsons is still supreme.
this post has gotten real lame. i watch lots of cartoons.
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
I hope it will be good. It will certainly make a lot of money opening weekend just of all the hardcore fans there are -- I know I'll be at it. It is due out next summer, right?
