Penn & Teller's show is great. I only have the second season though. I love the episode they did on PETA.
If you like Hotel Rwanda, check out Sometimes In April (if you haven't already). It was an HBO movie that in some ways I think is better than Hotel Rwanda.
Lately I've been renting TV series, like Lost, Sopranos, Desperate Housewives, Six Feet Under, Project Runway. I've really enjoyed escaping for 24-hours while watching an entire series.
Mike Leigh's Naked, Antonioni's The Passenger, Neil Jordan's Mona Lisa all come to mind
Docs: Sherman's March, The Thin Blue Line, Stevie, The Devil and Daniel Johnston
Altman: The Long Goodbye, Nashville, California Split, Short Cuts, 3 Women
As far as TV series goes, The Wire is an amazing show. So's Carnivale and Deadwood. I really dug Homicide: Life on the Street when it was on. The British miniseries, The Singing Detective is pretty damn great. And so is the short lived Errol Morris series, First Person
I'd also recommend The Yakuza Papers if you're into Japanese yakuza movies.
Could go on and on and on and on. Too many movies I love...
The Best of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog South Park Season 7 Dr. Strangelove Crash Paradise Now Curb season 4 Thumbsucker Me You and Everyone We Know
I liked all of these except the last one. One of my friends strongly recommended it. I watched it, I hated it. Thumbsucker was awesome though. And The Best of Triumph is probably one of the funniest things I've ever seen, if you like that kinda thing. I love that rubber puppet. I've got Bonnaroo artists sitting in my queue waiting. I'm gonna get them for the ride down, since I just got a portable dvd player for my enjoyment.
Anyone have any good suggestions for movies that I should be renting off of NetFlix? Anything... Suspense, Comedy, Indie, Docs.
I love how Netflix always has a good selection of music-related dvd's... I've rented tons of good concert dvds from netflix. I'm catching up on past bonnaroos by netflixing the 03 and 04 dvd sets. My favorite music dvd is "Coachella: The Movie", which you can now get on netflix.
if you have any interest in the flaming lips, you MUST rent a documentary about them called "The Fearless Freaks".
And if you want to get acquainted with one of this year's comedy headliners Patton Oswalt, rent the "Comedians of Comedy" movie which is only available from netflix.

Thanks for the suggestions, keep 'em coming. Fearless Freaks was great. If you like Daft Punk, Interstella 5000 is a cool anime DVD and I don't like anime. More, more, more, I want more!!!
Funny thing about the Coachella DVD, a few years ago Drew Thomas (the director) posted on the Coachella boards that he was interested in anyones home movies of their trip to Coachella. I contacted him and submitted about 4 hours of footage from '03 and '04. He said the footage was going to be used in the "Video Diaries" section. Well, the DVD came out and in the credits my name is listed for the video diaries. Only thing is, is that they didn't put the video diaries on the DVD. I think they were going to while they were making the credits list but I guess they never got around to putting it actually on the DVD.
I just started renting Arrested Development since I missed it's run on tv... if you like dramas and you never watched Six Feet Under I'd recommend that one to rent, I loved that series. I also really am digging Deadwood and season 2 is coming out on DVD this week I think... it definately was a suprising like for me as I've never been into the whole western thing.
Radiohead Live at Astoria. Incredible that Fake Plastic Trees was 'putting everyone to sleep'. City Of God. Seu Jorge as Knockout Ned. May be one of my all-time favorites. Elizabethtown. OK movie; every Crowe movie has an incredible soundtrack, and it's great to see MMJ play Freebird.
Squid and the Whale, I liked. Me You and Everyone We Know, I just thought it was wierd just for the sake of being wierd. I don't know what the point of it was. Maybe I missed something. The best movie I've seen in a while is Thumbsucker though. Great friggin soundtrack too.

Best TV show ever. That's right. Seriously though, you really should just buy the seasons. Cause watching an episode just once isn't nearly enough. There are so many subtle jokes and they come so fast that repeated viewing is recommended. I've gotten more use out of the 2 seasons that are out, than out of the rest of my dvd collection combined. Amazon has all 3 seasons on sale for under $20 each.
