Wouldn't it be great if we were able to make up the hours of work we missed past our alloted vacation time? Say I have 18 vacation days this year but I want to take 25 or so. I'd be more than willing to work late and through my lunch hours if I could take those extra days. All in the name of music!
I had Magic Hat for the first time at Bonnaroo '04 and loved it. All they had was #9 then but it's still my favorite. I've been able to find it at a couple places where I went to school and where I live, which is upstate NY
Hopefully the Magic Hat stage is adjacent to the main stage and we can get all the music without moving.
I just read an interview with the promoter of the event and the Magic Hat stage will indeed be adjacent to the main stage. You don't have to even move, just divert your attention to the side a bit. Thats so cool, we really don't have to miss a note of music.
Ropeadope invades All Good, and just when you thought it was all as good as it can get, Ropeadope jumps into the all good mix with it's clothes, it's dj's and it's New Music Seminars - short improvised sets featuring some of your favorite musicians mixed and matched like you've never seen them before. Every day you will find the Ropeadope DJS and MCS spinning classic hip-hop, soul, funk and groove. Special performances include:
NMS FRIDAY: Marco Benevento, Skerik and Mike D Tom Hamilton and friends John Medeski and friends
NMS SATURDAY: DJ Logic and friends Stanton Moore and friends Karl Denson and friends
...and if you ever need to just get away and dance to the DJS, chill in the shade or meet some lovely people, stop by the Ropeadope Stage as there will be plenty of surprises in store for those that do.
Sounds pretty cool if you can get yourself away from the main stage for a bit. There could be some really cool sets.
That sounds awesome! THe new music seminars sound interesting. I meant to go to one of those info sessions/panels during Roo but totally forgot. Did anyone go to any?

That's the news I've been waiting for. Can you give me a link for the interview?
Anybody know what time the music starts on Thursday? I know the Easy Star All Stars and Brothers Past are alternating sets but I have no idea what time it starts. Gates open at 5 pm so I'm hoping they give us plenty of time to get set up and relax before it starts. Especially since I won't be getting there until 6:30 or 7. I have a feeling this is gonna be one of the best nights of music all weekend, hoping I don't end up missing any of it.
our tickets got ordered today! i am so excited. im on an every other week pattern now. roo, then gratefule fest, now all good, then summer hookah. this is turning into a great summer. so anyone down for a meetup at all good? i was wonddering about the music on thursday too. im guessing it will start around 8 or 9. althoguh i really have no idea. i heard form many people that are going and have been before that they are not strict at all about the gate time. they saud you can get there on monday and setup. dont take that as fact but i heard that from several different people.
I would imagine thats kinda true. I mean I'm sure they want to keep the traffic flowing as much as possible and there aren't many roads leading up the mountain. I know there was only one before but I think they added one or two this year to help with traffic. Letting people in early would probably reduce some of the congestion. Oh well, I have to work half a day thursday so I won't be getting there any too early.
I'm so psyched for Ween. I've wanted to see them for like 5 years now and my only opportunity was at Bonnaroo '04. I decided to take a nap and ended up sleeping through every latenight set that Saturday. Can't wait to finally see them.
All I want to hear from Ween is a "Mollusk" or "Mutilated Lips" and I'll be the happiest bro there. Looks like there is some music other than Brothers Past and Easy Star All Stars on Thursday night. Some other bands starting around 7:30 I think. Also one of the Friday artists canceled. I wonder what they will do during his set. They just recentley posted this on the All Good website. I'm starting to get real excited.
i wanna hear ween play fluffy!!!!! i hear ya about the getting excited. i can barely contain myself. i wish they would make umphreys after dark but oh well. and id like them to put grace potter into that open spot on friday. friday is going to be crazy! trey mike and the duo and then bisco latenight. i couldnt imagine anythign ever living up to this years roo but grateful fest was incredible and i have a feeling all good is going to be right up there too. i love summer!
Friday is going to be off the hook. 5:50 to 4 am looks like it could be the best 10 hours of music of my life. Medeski, Claypool, Ween, Trey/Mike/Duo, and then Disco Biscuits. I hope the Biscuits play longer than 2 hours though. I think they will play two sets. Last time they played latenight at All Good they played until the sun came up.
we will be arriving on thursday afternoon. probably around 4 or so. it says gates open at 5 so i dont want to get there too early. althoguh i bet they let people in early.
Tickets just came today! We will be getting there around 6 ot 7 pm on Thursday. I just want enought time to get set up and relax and drink some beers before Brothers Past starts. I would love for Umphrey's to do a full band switch while Bisco takes a break and play a ragin N2F>DBK>N2F or something like that. I read somewhere awhile ago that Umphrey's probably wouldn't be getting there until Saturday morning though. Don't know how reliable that really is. They've had the week off all the way up until All Good so I'm still hoping theres a chance they get there Friday night.
Just checked the 10 day forecast for Masontown and it looks pretty good if it holds up. Chance of rain early on thursday before they even let people in. Friday looks to be partly cloudy and 82 degrees. Saturday has a 40% chance of isolated showers and 82 degrees. Sunday looks like 30% chance of isolated shower and 79 degrees. Not too hot and not too much rain expected so thats pretty good news. Last year everyone practically got washed off the mountain.
