Anybody going to this? The line up looks so good and none of the sets overlap. I really want to go but I can't get any of my friends to come with me. I'm considering going alone but it would be cool to be able to meet up with some chill people if anyone else is going.
i have tentative plans to go. a friend bailed on roo at the last minute and says he will buy my ticket for another festie. all good is where i wanna go. so we will see if he actually comes through. i may go anyway just because its going to be incredible. when i know for sure ill let ya know. i would love to meet up with some inforooers there

Thursday night looks incredible with the Easy Star All Stars performing their classic "Dub Side of the Moon" and the worldwide debut of "Radiodread", both in their entirety. For those that don't know Dub Side of the Moon is Dark Side of the Moon done all reggae style. Radiodread with be "OK Computer" done the same way. Sounds like a hell of a way to kick off the festival.
I have Dub Side of the Moon and it's really really good. I was actually really skeptical before I heard it. I love Pink Floyd so I honestly thought a reggae version of Dark Side would be a joke but it's done incredibly well. I have no idea how the Radiohead album will sound since this will be the debut but I would imagine it's done very well.

HOLY CRAP. They are doing Dub Side? That is incredible. I fricking love that cd. Bah i never thought i'd regret going to Turkey for three weeks, but its making me miss so many damn good shows
heres interesting piece of info. i left bros. past at roo for the code talkers and i wish i hadnt had to because they were putting on a hell of a show. i cant wait to catch their regular set and this radiohead/floyd show too at all good. its looking more and more like all good is a definite for me
July begins a new era for the band and we are very excited about the future. On July 13, at All Good Festival, Ilya Stemkovsky will make his debut as Brothers Past's new drummer. The band is thrilled about finding a player of his caliber and commitment available. Ilya is a well-accomplished, powerful drummer, who was the driving force behind the OM Trio. He's been hard at work learning the band's music, and after playing with him, there is plenty of reason for optimism and the chemistry was apparent. All Good promises to be an evening to ring in the new, and there is more in store. In keeping with the spirit of the night, we will be performing a second, specially-themed Radiohead/Pink Floyd set, in between performances of Radiodread and Dub Side of the Moon. We look forward to seeing all our friends and fans there on this exciting night.

Wow that Thursday night looks incredible. I really didn't want to go alone but I'm about 90% sure I'm going with or without my friends. The mountain top looks like a great place to see some amazing music. I also really like the idea of being able to chill at one stage all day and see everything. This festival has a good mix of bands I like and bands I've never seen that I really really want to check out.
Well it looks like I'm definitely going now. I talked to my buddy during my lunch break and he's pretty sure he's in. Has anyone here actually been to this festival before? I'm just curious as to how the camping is set up. I know you park your car and camp separately. I'm just wondering how far from the stage the camping is.
ya i am also curious as to how that all works out. its not that many people so id imagine that the walking wouldnt be too bad. on the site it says to be prepared to carry your caming gear 100 to 400 yards. thats really not too awful bad. i didnt see anything about how far to the stage. if anyones been that would be awesome to get some input, im gonna call and pester my friend right now to get the tix
I've been to All Good before, but it wasn't at the same place, so I'm not sure how the setup is now. You basically park, and lug your stuff, to wherever you want to camp. We were camped maybe 200 yards from the main stage area and there was no search to get into the concert area. But like I said, that was in 02 so I have no idea how things are run now.
I heard from a friend who went last year that the car searches were extermely thorough, but I wasn't there myself. Does anyone have any info on anything about allgood who went last year? Is there anything different than bonnaroo besides the non overlaping sets?
I'm sure the biggest difference from bonnaroo is the overall size of the festival. Bonnaroo is supposedly around 70-80,000 I think and All Good is at about 16-18,000 people. So i'm sure all the camping is a pretty close distance to the main stage. Other differences I would say also relate to the massive size of bonnaroo. I'm sure the main concert area doesn't have as many vendors and crazy things to do like the sonic forest and stuff of that nature.
ya roo is pretty great wit the extras. cinema tent, comedy tent, spnic forest, fire stuff, silent disco, vw garage, the baseball thing, basically all of the things that i never have time to even look at because of all of the great music! i guess it is nice though if ya use it.
Yeah bonnaroo is the best when it comes to that stuff. I'm kinda looking forward All Good because of it's scaled down environment though. After my 3rd Roo last year I left feeling like I was just finally overwhelmed. They just keep adding and adding things which is amazing, I just finally felt like I was missing too much even though I saw a lot and it was all amazing. So I'm gonna try smaller fests this summer and I'm sure I'll be back to 'roo again next summer.
damn i was really hoping to see grace potter again. but i see they are only playing for a half hour right before umphreys. that kinda sux. 30 minute sets hardly seem worth it. oh well the mainstage acts are awesome and thats really my only complaint aside from maybe swtiching umphreys and the greyboy allstars. but that will be a sweet latenight anyways.. i cant wait. i hope my friend isnt full of shit. he says hes ordering the tix this week
I got early bird tix for this fest even though I've never been. My biggest question is how far apart are the stages? At Langerado they had two stages side by side, so that one artist could be be preparing to play while the other stage was rockin. It was done really well, with very quiet soundchecks and only a few minutes of silence in between sets. All Good should borrow this idea.

That Thursday night thing sounds like it would be a fuc*ing blast. I really wish I was magic -- I'd love to get out there for this! Looks like a great lineup, but as Keith mentioned, what's up with all the 20-40 minute sets? I realize it's a second stage and all, but it hardly seems worth it when a lot of the acts are known for jamming or stretching things out a bit. I hope the stages are right on top of each other because otherwise the whole "no overlapping acts" thing really is kind of odd.
The acts on the magic hat stage are just their to make sure the music never stops I guess. The minute the main stage stops the side stage starts up. Then that stage ends when the next band on the main stage is ready to go. Half hour sets are kinda lame but it's a nice idea. Those bands aren't really a big draw anyway I don't think. I'll probably check some of them out Friday or Sunday. Saturday just looks too good to really leave the main stage.
It's definitely not a deal breaker or anything and the main stages are definitely all day worthy! I guess most of them on the Magic Hat Stage aren't a "big draw," but Steel Train, Grace Potter, MOFRO, ALO, Hackensaw Boys, and Hot Buttered Rum are all relatively large acts. Bah, I'm just complaining for the sake of complaining, things look awesome overall.
I wish I could go to this! If I had enough vacation days left I definitely would make the trip. The drive down from NJ to Tennessee was way easier than I expected. I'd do it again in a hearbeat if I could.
Does anybody know anything about John Medeski and The Itch? I'm a huge Medeski fan but I've never heard of the Itch. All I've been able to gather so far is that The Itch includes Eric Krasno from Soulive. Those two together should be awesome but I'd still like to know more about the Itch.
I've been wanting to go to all good the last couple of years but no vacation days left either. Stupid job, sure I can pay my bills and go to concerts but not all of them.
We here in Ohio sadly cannot get Magic Hat. I'll have to check across the river in Kentucky.
