Sad news in the state of Indiana. Verizon Wireless Music Center aka Deer Creek is for sale. The land around the site has become a goldmine for housing development and office buildings. So the owner is now going to cash in. 2007 will most likely be the last year of concerts there. So be sure to come and see a concert there this upcoming summer to relive some of those old Grateful memories you have. I for one am very pissed about this. Not only do I lose my favorite spot to watch concerts under the stars. I also lose my summer job. BS!
at the creek shows in '04 you could see it was the beginning of the end, chainsaws in the morning and houses instead of cornfield. turns out the place we camped at were the same people who were doing all of the developing, i was pissed. i understand that its just economics, but damm man its fucking deer creek. best. venue. ever.
