dudewheresmydefense, how about your three complaints now?
That was my thread, and this has nothing to do with it. Any team can whoop on any other team on any given day. OSU played their worst game (except maybe vs. Illinois) and Florida played hands down their best game. I never trashed Florida anyway. Get your facts/people straight.
Congrats Florida, basketball and football championships back to back...amazing.
Oh, and I LOVED that call to go for it on 4th and 1 on their own 29. Obviously I have no room to talk smack, but that was one of the worst calls I've ever seen. The risk/reward just doesn't add up. Even if they get the first down they still have to go 70 yards for the touchdown. In Tressell we trust.
Much like the media hyping OSU all I heard was the SEC is a much beter conference than the Big Ten. I AGREE WITH THAT but again, when you get beat over the head with it it gets to be annoying.
Thought 1 - To see who is better go head to head. There were 3 Big Ten vs SEC and the Big 10 won 2.
Thought 2 (especially since the way thought 1 turned out) Who won more bowl games overall. Answer is SEC
All in all, I still maintain SEC is better top to bottom.
Yea, of course hindsight is 20-20 on that 4th down call. I believe Tressel realized just how good Florida's D was playing (good grief lord knows I have to put this in here before I say how out of whack OSU's offense was or I'll get the wrath of not giving Florida credit....again) and just how out of whack OSU's offense was. It was an act od desperation that you don't see very often from Tressel.
Tressel has owned Michigan.......but I am pretty sure you lead the series by a few hunred games still. :-)

Well, it wasn't just hindsight. I was yelling the same thing when they lined up for the play. I thought they HAD to be just trying to get Florida to jump. Like I said, the risk reward just wasn't worth it.
I was suprised with how poorly OSU's offensive line looked. Two times I saw the right tackle block down, even though the guard had the DT no problem, giving the Florida DE a clear path to Smith. I wonder if the center, or whoever was making the o-line calls, messed up.
Yeah, Michigan's up by about 20. They better make it 21 next year. There's going to be soo much pressure on UM to win.
It was definitely an experience. Next time your team makes it to the big game, you should make every attempt to make it. Nothing like big time college football.
Yeah, that was a huge mistake for OSU, losing Ginn, but I even if he stayed in the game, OSU would not have won.
Here's another funny pic. This one's real though. It's Ginn in the end zone after his kickoff return for a TD.
What a blunder
What ever happened to the school of thought that says:
"When you reach the end zone, act like you have been there before"
This was the indicator of what kind of night it was going to be for OSU. Look at his ankle trapped under his own teammate! OUCH!
Totally agree, although it was a pretty spectacular way to open the game. That was right at my endzone (the small portion of the stadium that was gator fans) and there was a collective quietness amoung the gator faithful. Luckily that was pretty much the end of their highlights.

That call to go for it on 4th down actually only gave up 3 points, then ohio state had a turnover on the next drive which led to a touchdown, so trying to go for it then didnt really hurt them that bad.

It's only ranked 18th right now but that's mainly because it's a small class so far (13 commits/verbals). Signing day isn't until 2/7 so there's still time to snag some talent.
Not sure if these links will work for you, but check them out.

Even though OSU is now losing its top 2 receivers (i didnt think gonzo would go with such a deep class at wr) receiver is not their concern next year, they have a lot of talent there. I think they'll go back to pounding defenses with the run, especially is antonio pittman comes back. That, combined with a lot of the defense returning, could make for another run, but it'll definatly be a different looking team.
