What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.

OSU's defense showed up in the second half, but there offense never got going. I believe that the 51 days hurt, and they should do something about that, and losing ted ginn hurt, but that just wasnt the buckeyes that had been playing all year. That was probably the most underacheiving performance i've ever seen as a team, and i hate that its the buckeyes. Florida came to play and ohio state didnt, do i think florida was just that much more talented a team, no. But they definatly outplayed the buckeyes this one day, which is all that matters. So congrats to florida fans, and for us ohio state fans, we still have a strong defense comming back and a decent offense starting up.

You could've saved about thirty seconds of your life and types 'excuses' and we would've understood.

Oh, woops, i copied that from when i posted something similar on another site. I started by saying those arent excuses, and while they definatly hurt, they could've and should've been overcome. I am a buckeyes fan, but theres no excuse in the world for playing that bad.

After watching most of the game(i eventually had to turn it off because i couldnt bare to watch) and checking out the rosters on ncaa, i think florida will be winning another nc sometime in the near future. I did not realize the type of class they put together this past year. Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin are just the tip of the iceberg. I would definatly like to see a rematch in about 2 years, because i think osu is going back to the power style of football with ted ginn and troy smith leaving, and i think it'd be a good matchup.
Yea, don't even try and point out the things that caused us to lose cause all the haters will "call you out" for making excuses. Real big of ya. Florida came ready to play, OSU did not. Ginn hurt, 50 some odd days off = As s whoopin. I never give anyone crap for their team losing a ball game, guess that is too much to ask from the masses.
Cool, thing was I still woke up and the sun was rising over the smokies in a spectacular fashion this morning.
If 50 days off mattered so much, why did everyone still predict such a foregone conclusion of Florida's loss going into this game? I think that's why it seems like an excuse now. Everyone said, "speed, but no strength" when judging Florida and predicted the score to be reversed. The Heisman trophy winner had his worst game in his career-- but surely it couldn't be because a team they have never been tested against before was actually that good...
Anyway- it was a good win. If 50 days and Ginn are the best reasons anyone can say OSU lost than I think it wasn't an implosion of OSU, it was an explosion of UF.
1. FLORIDA CAME TO PLAY OSU DID NOT 2. Ginn hurt 3. 50 days and we did not handle it well
And no one seems to read the 1st reason and thinks we are making excuses!!! Can you not read? No question we got out played last night. Forgive us for pointing out a few other contributing factors. I don't think any of us have tried to take anything from Florida, so why all the crap? Yea, your right OSU did not implode at all, they played just like that all season.
I guess it easier to kick somebody when they are already knocked out.
What are you saying knox? In "we" are you meaning yourself? Your weren't pulling for OSU were you? Not an SEC boy!
I tell ya what, it is sweet vindication for the SEC! Do you guys realize that the Big 10 only won 2 bowl games?
All I have heard for a month and a half is OSU, Troy Smith, Ted Ginn, blah, blah blah.
OSU is too tough, speed can't beat strength.
Well Gators proved em all wrong last night. You guys are right, they came to play. Why didn't OSU come to play? They did! They just thought it was going to be easy because they been watching too much TV over the 51 day break they had. ESPN had them believing UF would be a push over. In the infamous words of Mr Corso "Not so fast my friend!!"
Did you hear they were talking about another rematch?
They want want OSU and Michigan to play again to see who get's 6th place in the BCS!
Yes, I grew up in Ohio. Was and still am a Buckeye first. While I agree the SEC is a tougher conference the head to head record in bowl games was Big Ten 2 SEC 1.
I also think your point highlights the larger problem.
"All I have heard for a month and a half is OSU, Troy Smith, Ted Ginn, blah, blah blah."
You did not hear that from Tressel or Ginn or Smith. Don't dog a team for something they did not create. They just plain lost.

I don't understand how you can say I'm actually giving crap. With the exception of my "roll over" comment in my initial excitement, have I attacked OSU?
I do need to apologize because some of this is my reaction to the line, "OSU didn't come to play" because I have always HATED that line, about any team. That is not an admission of Florida's power, that's just a baiting comment on chutzpah. As in: In a fantasy world where OSU did in fact come to play, they would have won. It seems to discount Florida for having shown up hungry while OSU were resting on laurels. But then later, you say that "Tressel or Ginn or Smith" weren't actually resting on laurels. I guess they were just resting.
Anyway. Let's assume, for the sake of argument, that OSU did, in fact, arrive to the stadium on the day of the National Championship ready to participate in a football game.
I guess we'll just have to wait for the rematch when OSU is ready to play in order to really find out what the matchup was like. You let us know when you're ready.
Man was that a beat down on an unbeatable team last night?! Troy Smith may not have said anything cocky but his body language and smiling in the first half sure looked like he was full of himself. He looked like he was step behind, mentally and physically, all game. I think it is hilarious that the media put OSU on this pedestal and they got their butts handed to them. SEC!!!

I'll give 6th place to UM. They could use it :-)
I meant that is all I have heard on ESPN and TV and radio, not for OSU themselves.
Jim Tressel is one of the most tactful and well spoken coaches in the country.
sorry if I confused, but I didn't mean OSU was talking trash, it was the media I was referring to.
Even though you are OSU at heart, we still love you in TN Knox!
Ok, i guess I have to be literal for you to understand. OSU was not prepared to play UF last night. For one reason or another they did not score as many points as UF. Mostly because the defense of UF limited Troy Smith and OSU to crossing the goal line twice. While in turn OSU's defense was unable to stop UF's offense from crossing their respective goal line.
The result was a score of 41 to 14.
The Florida Gators rule the Universe. I have given my Congrats for a terrific performance. OSU sucks and should not have even been on the field. Troy Smith and the Bucks were overrated. Jim Tressel is a terrible coach and should be fired. The OSU football program should be disbanded in shame.
Sorry if I used any more figures of speech that make you angry.
I am never the sort of person to rub anything in no matter what happens, mostly because I know how I feel when my team loses. Way, too much to ask from most people.
Congrats to Florida for beating the tar out of Ohio State.

Hows that :-)
It was great, you're a real gentleman. It's too bad that when most people say, "X didn't show up to play" they mean a lot more subtext. I guess when I heard you use it I should have assumed that you were being so figuratively humble.
Hey I know how it feels when my team loses too- in fact for the last few weeks I've had to hear that my team didn't even deserve to play in their game. But I think the point here is- OSU hasn't had that feeling in a long, long time. And right now, in a lot of places, I'm hearing how their performance was such an anomaly that UF didn't really win as much as OSU lost. That's damming with faint praise-- I'll assume you know what that figure of speech means.
All right fellas, just woke from partying all night in Scottsdale (Phoenix suburb) and boy do I have a smile on my face. I am about ready to go watch the game on TV, since I was able to be there in person last night as I watched my extremely prepared Gator team thrash the big bad Buckeye. I lost my voice, broke my sunglasses, almost cried, and it was one of the best days of my life (there are a couple good roo and coachella days in there as well).
I do have to say that 99% of the buckeye fans were real class acts that I ran into and that was great. I do think that some of that was because there were so many of them (I would say that the stadium was 80/20 but the town was probably more like 90/10), and the fact that they all thought they had already won the game before playing it (but as a fan I can sorta understand that rationale).
I think that Florida showed that they were the best team from the best conference and I think that LSU is probably the second best team in the nation. This was a day that showed Urban to be possibly the best college football coach in the nation. I have alot of respect for Tressell but he did not get his team anywhere near prepared for this game. Going for it on your own 29, at the end of the second quarter when you are already down ten, probably a mistake.
I know that most of you guys are anti-gator, but at least you have owned up today. Knoxville, isnt about time to change your avatar.
Go Gators - Reigning Basketball and Football National Champions.
Time for breakfast and to watch how Herbstreit backpeddals on espn. I used to have respect for that guy before this season, but this season I have lost all respect for what he has to say. Plus, I have never seen so many wrong predictions in my life, its like he turned into Corso overnight. Next year, I have to remember to just bet against Herby so that I can make a killing in Vegas (not really, but at least I will win my office pool)

SO jealous you were there! But very cool man. As a lifelong Gator fan (son of two Gators with 80% of my family living within 40 miles of Gainesville) we have a reason to smile big...
