My company is having a meeting in Memphis for about 25 people. I was wondering / hoping that some of you TN locals could give me some advice or suggestions on fun nighttime activities.
Good bars, music, things like that are what I'm looking for. The people will be mostly 30+ year old guys.
Thanks!

Beale street is always fun for tourists, so if you enjoy touristy things, then you'll have a good time there. It's nothing but bars and night clubs; many are blues joints, being that this is both the theme and history of Beale Street. You can also walk around very drunk, drink-in-hand, and it's perfectly legal.
If you like to hang out in bars that locals like, visit:
You also might find some interest in the South Main arts district downtown.
Midtown is actually the artsy side of town. It's fun and there's unique stuff all over the place.
When you get here, pick up a copy of The Memphis Flyer. It's a good read, it's got everything going on for the week and the weekend, and it's free. You can find it in grocery stores, libraries, and some convenience/liquor stores and restaraunts. Or you can check it out here: memphisflyer.com
And remember - there's no last call in Memphis! ;D
memphis is great. the flying saucer prides themselves on many different beers
dan mcguinness in the east memphis area is a good bar, they used to have 2 dollar pints of newcastle on draft for pint night, i think wednesday night... not sure about now. its also kinda near the university of memphis campus, but not so much a college bar.
beale street, though. definitely your best bet. check out the peabody during the day. ride the trolley, see the bums. typical memphis fare.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
Yeah, I would also suggest Beale Street/downtown for 30 year old guys who are out of town and probably ready to party...you can actually go to huey's, flying saucer, or dan mcguinness locations downtown if those sounded interesting. Where are you staying? Depending on where you are, we could suggest some things that would require little to no driving. If you are downtown anyway, I wouldn't even think of going anywhere else. If you are going to be somewhere else, I would probably suggest somewhere in Midtown.
