Did anyone else see this sh!t on the news today. It's crazy. In Boston they shut down highways and bridges cause of these things, thinking they were bombs or something. It's one of the mooninites giving the finger. If you know ATHF you know what I'm talking about. They were here in Philly as well. I think it's funny that the local news website has a picture of dude giving the finger. Genius. I mean seriously, isn't there somebody on the police force or somebody that would recognize this as Aqua Teen Hunger Force. I guess not........

I just think it's funny that the police, bomb squad and FBI thought that these things were I.E.D.s! I could be wrong, but I just don't see terrorists having the kind(any) of sense of humor that would inspire them to create a bomb that gives you the finger before it explodes!
i was watching cnn as it unfolded and they were reporting that it was sponge bob toys giving the finger. so obviously cops are into aquateen. they should all lose their pay for the day for doing nothing.
This looks like if they were trying to make awareness of the movie they are releasing this year. Not sure when it is coming out though. I have seen date releases for March and June in Movie Mags at my theatre.
Have you seen the press conference that the guys behind this held in Boston? It's hilarious. Everyone is trying to ask them questions about it, and all they want to talk about is 70s haircuts. It's really worth seeing, I'll see if I can track it down on youtube...
^^^ That's great. Thank you Fox news. Seriously, is it a crime to put up L.E.D. lights in random places? I'm going out to get a Light Bright today and I'm gonna leave at the train station.

i can't believe they actually arrested someone for this, every boston official involved should get impeached, imo. what a show of complete ignorance and disregard for the poor guy they arrested's freedom
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**

The press confrence is sooo damn funny!! I know some people don't watch or know about Aqua Teen hunger force, but the fact that thoes ads have been up all around the city for at least three weeks makes this whole thing absurd. The press confrence makes me feel happy that we still have people in this country who understand not to add to the unfounded panic and fear in America where "you can put a box out in the corner of a street and shut down the whole city." ....... ...... . . . . . .
when one of the news people asked about causing wide spread panic i thought for sure they would take that and run with it. but the hair was good enough

while this stunt turned out to be funny ..they did put peoples lifes in danger. With these stunts they pulled police resources away from serious crimes and real issues. These people should be charged. There has to be some punishment. Kind of like yelling fire in a crowded theatre......still laughing at the hair comment. true joksters!!

They didn't make that decision - the police and fire depts made that decision. How come no one's questioning their decision making?
EDIT: Well, no one in mainstream media. I know people on this board have brought up that point.
those things were up on overpasses and buildings for two weeks before the cops went crazy. which ever way you look at it all those moronic cops should either be fired for wasting money and time or they should be fired for taking 2 weeks to recognize such a serious threat.
some peole are too caught up in the fear mongering that our government loves so much.
my own sources tell me that 29 terrorists crossed the border from mexico no questions asked. and 3 more flew in on planes even though they were on terrorist watch lists while they were keeping us safe from mooninite toys! but at least they stopped the mooninites!!!!!! ;D

The police see crazy shit all day long. How are they suppose to know this is a hoax instantly?? If it wasn't a hoax and shit blew up and police took it lightly and people got killed u would say they should have done more. They have no choice but to react in the nature they did. The decision I am questions is the originators of the hoax. Their judgment was flawed IMO however it turned out to be funny!

DUDE thanks for making my point we finally aggree. They pulled away resources to stop a hoax. Wow the cops are so stupid wanting to keep people from being blown up!! the nerve
well i have a policy of not responding to you chicago. but ill let it slip once to tell you that i in no way made your point or agreed with you. i said that the cops should be fired for being morons. you said the cops were doing their job and these kids should go to jail.. those things dont agree. just want to make that clear.
hoax implys it was a fake threat. it was an add campaign and some of them had been up for weeks. and when it first started appearing on the news many calls were made to let officials know this. but they kept right on being morons.

It was a bit of an immature stunt (however funny), but I don't think they are in a position to be charged with anything. This is unlike yelling "fire" in a crowded theatre because that type of stunt (or, more seriously, to fake a terrorist plot/attack) is done with the intent of deliberately making the public think they are in danger of some sort. The most violent/dangerous part of this guerilla campaign is that he's giving the finger. It simply had the intent of confusing and enticing people, not provoking them to fear for their lives. I certainly don't blame the police for taking very prudent measures with this, although not learning anything about ATHF does indicate some intelligence problems. All the same I'd be surprised if they are given anything more than a stiff fine.

I'm going to nay-say on your view on this. I think three weeks is long enough for the authorities to figure out that these signs were harmless and posed no threat to anyone. Furthermore, if there was a relevent issue that arised ((arise chicken, chicken arise)) from the signs being up, then the police had plenty of time to investigate and make some calls pertaining to finding out where they came from, and I'm sure it wouldn't have taken long. In reality, the signs were up and nobody percieved them as a threat till you get thease "news" channels barking at every "un-identified package" which in turn serves it's purpose and spooks out the right kind of people to turn something harmless into a rediculous and imbarassing ordeal,, to which the authorities save face by falsley naming the whole thing a "Hoax". which it is not because the signs would've had to been put there for the singular purpose of lookin like a bomb.

Looks like the cops are pissed b/c they didn't know these signs were in place. So they are embarressed and scared. They see electrical devises hanging off bridges and their freaking out! Legally this will probably cost the cartoon network some cash. It seems as though cartoon network should have alerted the police or highway patrol or some gov't agency of the advertising stunt. Unless they paid somebody for the space then there to blame. The police are on edge in Boston and a stunt harmless or funny (IMO it was damm funny )nowadays) just played on the police departments worst fears.
