Unless the fines are astronomical, which I don't see them being, since no malicious intent or gross negligence is involved, i would say these guys really have achieved exactly what one is supposed to achieve in a publicity stunt. The name Aqua Teen Hunger Force has been uttered and printed in thousands of places for the first time over the last 2 days.
The fact is that these things got put up in a whole sh!tload of cities, and nowhere else did they freak out. I mean, you have to be cautious, but seriously, they didn't call in a bomb threat, or raise any false alarms. It's not their fault, that people are idiots. If I put a video card, for a computer, on someone's doorstep, should I get arrested for it? Yeah I think not. At the most, they should get a fine. And I'm sure The Cartoon Network will pay for it.
well turner pussed out. hes paying 2 million to the state agencies that wasted tax payers money for no reason and created a public nusance when there was no reason. if i was him i would have let it go to court. sh.it we are rewarding these ass.holes for being some of the biggest morons on earth. maybe we should start having some basic intelligence testing before we give these faliures in life a gun and explosives to go roaming the streets. no one who has anything going for them would put their life on the line for damn near minimum wage to go and harrass teenagers, hippies, minorities, and the poor. just a bunch of people who couldnt get into a decent college. and wanna feel powerful with a gun and a badge. IMO

2 million seems pretty cheap for the amount of "free" advertising they got out of the stunt. That wouldn't have even gotten them 30 seconds during the Super Bowl...
true.. but paying 2 million for something that was in now way wrong or your fault jsut dosent seem right. we should hold these local officials responsible for thier actions. they were told repeatedly they were harmless.... right away. their answer to that was "we are investigating all leads' they just wanted to have fun with their toys. and get on tv. make it seem like they served a purpose. and im sure it will be used to justify a future budget increase.

Well U don't pay 2 million dollars "if" u did nothing wrong. They know they messed up by not getting permission to advertise where they did. The pigs freak out like u could expect and b/c of legal issues have really no choice but to. One mistake and the city is sued for millions. Surely the police dropped the ball on not spotting this earlier (shows how far off Boston is when it comes to security). Turner made a good move pay up and just move on. Business class 101 "don't let bad publicity lingere"...They don't want to drag this out in court and be on the news everyday.
