Im just wondering if theres a way to download ID3 tags. Over the last 6 months I've been upgrading most of my back catalogues to FLAC. Just like I predicted theres alot more lossless content on the web now due to higher speeds of internet access and extremely affordable drive space. However, ALOT of lossless rips havent been tagged at all. I could care less about lastfm. My car stereo however displays loads of track information from the embeded tags. Comes in handy when I make big mixes and want to know a name of a song I dont currently. Re-tagging all of this stuff is very time consuming.
If anyone could help me out it would be appreciated. You dont have to give me some long walkthrough, just the jist.
I was born in the back seat of a Yellow Cab in a hospital loading zone and with the meter still running. I emerged needing a shave and shouted 'Time Square, and step on it!
well, my advice is pretty crap, but i think iTunes does a decent job as an ID3 tag modifier. You can just cut and paste info from one mp3 to the next - I would guess I can manually do a whole album in less than 1 min...
I edit my ID3 tags using itunes or winamp. if you highlight more than one file, say an entire album, then right click and select "get info" in itunes, you can edit the artist and album name for whole albums at once.
From my experience, there really needs to be an ID3 tag software that will que a database and rename your mp3s based on info from the database and user settings. this way you could automate the naming of all those mp3s. I have never found a program that will do this, so i guess we just have to edit them manually.
