you are always welcome on the board dude, congrats on the kids of course also ... i hang at the coachella board because a) i have been to coachella multiple times b) i plan on going next year c) and i just like the people there ... so even if you are not lucky enough to hit the roo this year, welcome ... cr****
I'll be a nurse in 2 years! I'm so freakin' excited. I'm not exactly sure what I want to do with it. I would like to work in the family planning/women's health field for a while... but I don't know if I'll do that forever. I can also see myself working in labor and delivery or pediatrics. I would love to have a trained therapy dog and I want to spend a week each summer working as a camp nurse down at Camp Ondessonk (Heepwah!)
There are a lot of folks in the health care field on here. Not all that surprising really, that hippies gravitate towards a field that involves helping people.
My mom is battling breast cancer so I care for her. I have two boys, 11 and 4 they keep me running at top speed 24/7 and my husband would be lost without me.
The pay sucks, I have no benefits, but the people I work with are my world
I am an addiction counselor for teens. I have been doing this for two years. The kids I work with are great kids. Many have been dismissed by school and the justice system as trouble. Most drug use started at age 8 with their parents. Before doing this I worked as a counseled prisoners and person with HIV

similar to a couple of other people on here, i work in the wonderful world of TELEVISION. (its all make-believe ya know) i've done this for more than 15 years. 10 of those years were in production where i was part of a crew doing 2-4 live news shows everyday. (audio, camera, graphics, editing, etc.) now i'm a master control op. that is just a fancy way to say i push buttons (much like George Jetson). nowadays almost everything is run by computer so i am usually just maintaining those. this line of work used to be exciting but now its gotten quite boring. the pay has never been great but the company has good benefits. the worst part about the job is that i am in one room by myself for most of a 10-hour shift. plus its overnite... easy work, crazy hours.
my wife, who is going with me to Roo, is a nurse. she takes care of people and sees blood and stuff---ewww yuck!
and... oh yeah, 2 little people call me "Daddy". i don't get paid for that.
Coulbean: Congrats on Nursing School. My wife's a RN. If you like the work, it is a great field. Great pay and bene fits and there is always work.
Alyroo: Sorry about your mom's cancer. I took care of my dad and sister when they had cancer know it can be rough and rewarding at the same time. Thoughts, prayers, and general good vibe's go out to you and yours. Karma too!

Don't hold this against me. PLEASE don't hold this against me. I work for a small oil company. Yes I agree gas prices are way to high but I don't have anything to do with that. That is the fault of big oil and greed. I want my Bonnarooooo.
Was a cop for a very short while. I've been a graphic artist for the last 20 years. I spend my time making super models look as good as they do. Some of them get lots of retouching!!

Karma for you, People smited me when I said on another thread that I am an addiction coun. I am sure your not the one in the board room making a billion $ jacking up prices. You have to pay the same we do. Unless, can you get an employee discount. Then you will be my bestes friend.
I went to art school and have a degree in Industrial Design. Worked for a furniture designer in Philadelphia after school. Moved South to work in a small design office where our biggest client was Goodyear tire. Worked on the Aquatread when I got there. Currently work for myself for the past four years and do a little of everything. Graphic design, professional clown, illustrator and caricature artist.
After playing on pirate type ships for a few years, I went back to school and got a second bachelors degree (evidently I think masters degrees are overrated...just kidding) and now I'm a pediatric nurse. I absolutely love it. I work three 12 hour shifts a week, I don't sit at a desk, and I get paid to rock babies back to sleep or play battleship with kids. Eventually I DO want to go back to get a masters degree as a Pediatric Nurse Practioner, but no rush because I learn so much everyday when I go to work that will help me down the road.
Karma....I worked on "tallships" for a few years and still volunteer on them in my time off. I am currently working for a tugboat company....4 weeks on and 2 weeks off. Benefits and money for being underway....go figure! The work on tallships was much more rewarding though! ;D

Another one of those well liked jobs. I am a Nuclear Inspector for a company in Virginia. We inspect Nuclear power plants and some small military contracts. One thing that is cool though is I have gotten to travel all over the world.
Picture of me below is sporting a Bonnaroo shirt in Switzerland at 14000 feet.
