Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!
eMusic baby. Definately the best of the legal options. Massive selection (2,000,000 tracks +), VBR encoding, no DRM, $0.22/track. Independent labels only though, you won't find the top 40 in there.

I download the vast majority of my music (freely), with a small portion coming from either those I HAVE to have (new white stripes, for example) or from bands just below that but who I respect for being loose with their music (Wilco). I also buy a pretty decent amount of vinyl, but usually old used stuff and occasionally new stuff if I think it'll age well or sound good on vinyl.

CDs and we have a guy called Vinyl Vic here in Kalamazoo who sells wicked vinyls out of his garage for $1 so I frequent there a lot too...I dont know where he gets the vinyl (and I dont want to Know) but hes always got good stuff and its cheap. Bought Strange Days (The Doors), Axis:Bold As Love (Jimi Hendrix), Apostrophe (FRANK Zappa), and Bitches Brew (Miles Davis) there the other day for 4 bucks, in fairly good condition...
VINYL VIC RULES!!!
So I wanted to pick cd and vinyl but i would still say I buy more CD's
I prefer vinyl and there's a great place in Lawrence, KS called Love Garden to get it (along with online) but I buy CD's when it's not on vinyl. I have a vinyl attention span for most music.
