Hey guys, I thought it'd be interesting and fun to talk about who all your athletic allegiances are to. It's known that people can get pretty protective about their teams, so try and keep an open mind when discussing. And if two people are fans of rival teams, playful jabbing is fun, but keep it tasteful.
For me, I am a fanataic of the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team and a diehard Arkansas Razorback basketball fan, cause I moved from there to Omaha.

TIGERS WORLD SERIES CHAMPS 2007...ITS GONNA HAPPEN
and I got a shot at a Stanley Cup with the Red Wings and a NBA championship with my newly revamped Pistons lineup (with U-M grad and fateful timeout caller [still pissed over that ] Chris Webber)
As you can tell, I'm torn between 2 cities. I was born in SoCal, and moved to PA when I was 6. I've always rooted for both cities' teams, and the Raiders have since moved, but I still root for em . Looking forward to the Dodgers and Phillies both kicking @ss this year.
Needless to say, my west coast teams have come through for me. I'm still waiting for a Philly Championship, so I kinda root harder for my Philly teams. E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!!

Those are two night and day sports towns. The only fans harder than Philly fans are NYC fans. And the only fans softer than LA fans are Miami fans...
I went to the University of Florida so I am a proud member of the Gator Nation, and it is truely great to be a Florida Gator right now (I went to the national championship game, and hoping to go to see my Gators in the Final Four once again).
I also grew up in Alexandria, VA - just outside of DC. So I am pretty diehard about my Redskins, Wizards, and Orioles, in that order after my Gators.

Except when you're talking about Raiders fans. They're pretty hard. And NYC fans are definitely not harder than Philly fans. Maybe more moronic, but not harder. Hey, we threw snowballs at Santa, and ended Michael Irvin's career and then cheered about it

I gotta say, I'm kinda surprised at some of the randomness of these teams. I simply cannot fathom having a favorite team that is not from my home state. I suppose I'm lucky in the sense that my home state (Wisconsin) has all of the big sports (cept hockey, which I doubt I'd follow anyways). I understand some of you have moved to different places and kept some old allegiances and took on some new ones.
Not saying it's wrong whatever team anyone wants to cheer for (except for the Yanks, Duke, USC, and Red Sox - mainly if you aren't from that area), I am just surprised at some of the apparent randomness.
Hockey: Washington Capitals International Rugby: Team Ireland Football: New York Giants Football: Celtic FC College Sports: Rutgers/Notre Dame Baseball: Yankees Basketball: Knicks
I also follow some local Irish rugby teams as well as some other sports over there that I wont bore you with.
I know its not a team sport, but one of my favorite sports is Boxing, and my all time favorite boxer was Micky Ward
"They won't break me because the desire for freedom, and the freedom of the Irish people, is in my heart. The day will dawn when all the people of Ireland will have the desire for freedom to show. It is then that we will see the rising of the moon."

I was actually pondering posting that, but then i just gave everyone the benefit of the doubt. I believe the only non-ohio team i have is the Yankees, but thats because i lived in new york for about 6+ years, so i just gave some of the reasons as being similar to that. Not that theres anything wrong with liking an apparently random team, i just found the variety a little strange.
