Just got back from seeing it. It was what I expected. Bloody, kick-ass action flick. I was not disappointed. I don't think I'd go see it on the IMAX though. The sound would be much improved, but I don't think much else would.

Danbird, we are going to see it on Imax this Sat. I will let you know. We have been waiting on this one as well...
I just got back from a late night showing. I was a HUGE comic book fan/collector for about 10 years of my life, so I knew of this and of course Miller. I wasn't particularly excited to see it, just because I've kind of lost my love for comic book related properties and such. But wow. What a film. I've gotta say the cinematography was top notch, good acting, nice adapted script, and some of the greatest battle sequences ever displayed on the big-screen. I was especially in awe of the way music was used. In all honesty a great action movie that should be seen by anyone with interest in big battle, period-esque pieces.
On a scale of 5 stars, I give this movie: ***1/2
Now, if they would only come out with a screen adaptation of "Ronin."
Just got back from the Imax to see 300. I was blown away. I thought it was great. I have not read the GN of 300, but was extremely impressed with the style of the film.
Imax made it seem so much larger than life. The Spartans kick some major azz!!
