For me, the festivities will start on Friday night and carry early into Sunday Morning. Last year, I was in Chicago with some friends, wanted to go again this year, but family matters grounded us. I am not Irish, but I think that I can hold my own.
Start off with a bottle of Jameson Friday and move into the Gunniess for breakfest, to lay a good foundation, then the fun begins. Going to a new Irish Pub here in Knoxville (Not the Mod), to celebrate.
I will raise a glass to you all, listen carefully, You maybe able to here me singing some Irish Drinking Songs. ;D ;D ;D ;D
"Chicago is known as the Windy City, and Montana is called the Big Sky State, so I think that we should somehow combine the two to create the ultimate kite-flying experience. "-Mitch Hedberg
i will be in savannah. they dye the river green and its just a good ol time. savannah aint no joke on st. pattys. im all about some extra stout all day
ok.......... mind you im really loaded as i tyope this.
friday night my festivities kick off with seeing Gary Og (a personal hero of mine) at Maggie Mae's in Sunnyside. I will meet one of my biggest heroes in the world, and at the same time catch some kick ass live music. Should prove to be one hell of a night.
Saturday I will be taking in all the glorious St Patrick's Day celebrations and most likely ending it all off with a few pints at my "home bar" the lovely "Effen Gruven"
damn right people, "Effen Gruven" any body in the long island area on saturday come down and pints are on me! seriously, somebody come I dont want to be alone!
edit- As the resident Irishman on this board, I seriously recommend somebody take me up on my offer, I need some people to celebrate my favorite day of the year with!
"They won't break me because the desire for freedom, and the freedom of the Irish people, is in my heart. The day will dawn when all the people of Ireland will have the desire for freedom to show. It is then that we will see the rising of the moon."
I am going, with a rather large contingent of friends, to the scenic and ritzy coastal town of Atlantic City, NJ. I've never been so I'm excited to loose some money. We will also be seein Jim Gaffigan whilst there. So needless to say I am quite excited. We plan on going to the meet and greet after the show, so I'll post pics here of me with the greatest comedian to ever do Hot Pockets shtick.

friday we are going to see my friends band, whiskey dick, at the grateful fed (its a psychadeli) and drink $10 triples. saturday it's camping, irish style.
last year I was in Dublin for this, my favorite day of the year.
it was a truly lovely experience.
The streets were DEAD up until about 10am, that is when people started grabbing their spots for the parade. Once the parade started EVERYBODY, i mean man, woman, child, seriously EVERYBODY was lined on the street for the parade. As soon as the parade ended you just turned around and walked into the first pub that you saw. It was easily the best day of my life. Pubs with "maximum occupancies" of 250 people, easily reached 2500. I look forward to going back there next year to experience that again.

Both Gaffigan shows are sold out. But by-all-means, anyone who wants to come to A.C. to party should do so.

Hell, id be glad to just lose some money and talk about good music with you! when are you going there!?
We will be arriving at our hotel at about 3ish Sat. afternoon. Then I think we'll be getting drunk at the hotel, then down to the Borgata for gambling, eating, drinking, and then the show. The show's at 11pm, so you'd be on your own for a couple hours. PM me if you're serious.
Anyone going to see the Pogues Saturday night at the Roseland? Just heard they cancelled tonights show on account of Shane taking a tumble on stage in Boston. I hope for a speedy recovery.
I like to think that we do st. patty's well here at MSU. My only real "plan" at the moment is for friday, I'm going to a pre-patty's day party, there's going to be five kegs (oh yeah, that's how we pregame for st. patty's at michigan state, woo!) But that's it for event scheduling. I've secured 20 pints of guinness for myself to consume on the blessed day, the plan is to wake up early, drink several pints, put the rest in a backpack and see where they take me! I'm sure I'll do a little celebrating around the dorms though, I know that there'll be at least three kegs on my floor alone! Oooo I'm excited! Happy Saint Patrick's Day all!
im gonna be in lansing getting drunk at a friends friday. getting some pancheros. nothing better then pancheros drunk at 3 am. pokey sticks come close. damn i miss el sometimes. then im off to see umphreys in south bend for st pattys day. cant wait!!!
