We get one day and one day only. To get away from the kids and head up to Chicago. The Amon Tobin show is on May 5th at the Metro and I'm looking for advice on any good hotels, resturaunts or something cool to pack into one day.
I'm not familiar with the neighborhood the Metro is in. I know it's near Wrigley Park, so there's probably some good resturaunts around. I was thinking about just kicking around at Millenium Park for the afternoon. I dunno. Any help would be appreciated.
Even without the kids, the Museum of Science and Industry is very cool, also The Shedd Aquarium and the Adler Planetarium. The Sears Tower Skydeck is cheesy but the view really can't be beat (if it's a clear day).

Millenium Park is awesome, you should check it out. Any hankering for a particular type of food/what's your budget?
If you like beer head over to Sheffield's Beer and Wine Garden where they have 150 bottled beers and 30 (I think) on tap. They even have a bad beer of the month.
Both within walking distance of the Metro. Or better yet, go to Sheffield's and order in the pizza. Two birds, one stone.
Thanks for the tips. I forgot it was Cinco de Mayo that day and so it was hard finding a hotel, but I found a good hotel within walking distance of the Metro. We've done all the museums and Chicago Pizza to death in previous trips. Millenium Park seems to be the place to go. We were also hoping to stumble upon some kind of Cinco de Mayo fiesta. And if it's rainy out, we can always stop at the Shedd, since that never gets old. A friend steered me to a good Moroccan resturaunt that we might check out.
i've been to a few past cinco de mayo fest's in the past...check for a concert/block party on the north side near wrigleyville...Q101 in the past would shut down a street and you like pay like five bucks for a small food/music/arts and crafts etc...might take some searchin' but im sure there is something of the sorts. also if you are lookin' for a nice high end italian/wine/fine cuisine...i'd check out scoozi...its off west huron...its a great diner and atmosphere...
