Not those auctions, but basically those same cars. I have a while to choose, but if all goes well over the summer i'm getting a new car, and i have narrowed it down to these two. Just curious what you guys would choose and your opinions. If i got the Chevy i would probably get a banks ecu too, which would boost hp 155, and torque like 385, but the Jaguar is a bit cheaper. (Not often you hear that. ;D) Thanks guys. Oh yeah, sorry if those links are illegal, let me know if they are and i'll get rid of them.

Now I am not a Chevy fan but that is what I voted because unless you have lots of money, good luck with any repairs on the Jag. They are expensive to fix and they tend to have way more problems than the average car. I have known 2-3 people that have had them and said they would never buy one again.

The engine and drivetrain on those Jags are actually supposed to be pretty solid. So i dont think it'll break down a lot, but it would be exspensive to fix. Then on the other hand diesels never break. Luckily i have a while to think about it.
as stated in other posts, Jaguar's are alwaays in the shop. My dad bought a 1963 X type Jag a while back and i got to ride in it five times in the year he had it because it was in the shop so frequently because of random mechanical errors. Get the truck
I would wager if you bought the truck, the # of times you say "I wish I had the Jag" would be exponentially fewer than the # of times you'd say "I wish I had a truck" if you bought the Jag.

Ford started getting involved with the jags in 97^. But when that happened it went from 31st in jd powers most reliable to 5th. I'm not too scared of the engine or transmission breaking on this, which would be the most exspensive, but you never know. The trannys actually a mb amg one, so its pretty stout.
i have known a few jag owners and they are in the shop all the time. and they are expensive to fix. and when your packing for roo you will wish you had a truck.
well ok.. you have two really diff cars up there.....
so what do you want from your vehicle??? thats the biggest question.
are you gonna need more space and pulling ability or do you want a quick little car?? i mean thats the biggest thing jsut think of which one will benifit you more you know. just think of what you will mainly be using it for and base your decision that way.

I like mud runnin, but 900lb ft of torque is pretty fun to drive too.... Right now i'm leanin towards the jag, but we'll see. Just was curious on everyone elses thoughts on it. I mean thatd just be pimpin to have too. ;D
haha you could always get the truck and do the conversion that makes it run off grease or whatever, then you can make your town smell like french fries everywhere you go hahaha

my dad has driven chevy trucks all my life. he's smacked a few around, but theyve never quite "died". my mom on the other hand, drives the foreign cars, and god they are always in and out of the shop.
long story short. get the truck.
OR, solve your problem and mine, get a car, a chevy CAR. like my 05 malibu, so i can get my gti????? ill give you a sweet deal i promise!
i hear ya man. i wouldnt get one just because its a big bullseye for cops. but in a perfect world thats what id be driving! but ill stick with the plain jane chevy van to avoid harrassment.
