Did anyone watch the first 3 episodes of the 11 part miniseries that The Discovery Channel is doing? They were freaking amazing. I can't wait for the next 4 weeks (i think) of shows that they'll be putting on.
I think the coolest part for me was in the first episode with all of the birds doing the crazy mating dances, and then in the 2nd episode with the Snow Leopard first time ever caught on tape in the wild, along with hunting for some mountain goats, so fast and agile it was amazing.
ya im watching it too. incredible. i might have to order this whole series on dvd. the birds were cool as hell. the one that made its head into a big black oval with the 2 bright blues eyes and the big bright blue smile was incredible. and she wasnt all about it. if i was a female bird id of done him for that. that was awesome.
EDIT-- and the cliff mokeys were badass too. i wish i could do that.

They knew what they were doing by putting the birds of paradise segment so early on. That completely sold me and I was glued to the television for the next three hours.

Very intriguing show. Took the reasons I watch the Discovery and Ntional Geographic channels and made a show out of it...Great Idea...Im hopin for more than just the 11 parts
Anyone else have the same problem I did? I couldn't stop thinking that the giant panda chewing on the bamboo was a guy in a suit. They are just too cute to be true...
The show was amazing. The camera angles and all the stuff they captured was AMAZING. I love how they showed at the end of the shows how they got some of the crazier stuff.
Also I would have hated to be the team that had to go the 2.5 miles underwater to film. I would have been creeped out. I cant wait to see what else they show and it just proves how freaking crazy Earth is.
I actually downloaded the underwater ocean creatures episode quite a few months ago, from when the BBC showed the series. It was in HD, and absolutely incredible. I don't have discovery, but I will be seeing these one way or another.

i like the deep sea footage. you see these creatures that the majority of us have never imagined before (like the octopus with fake glowing eyes). and when they showed the birds diving 60 feet down into the water... awesome.

Were there only 3 episodes on Sunday night? I taped all 6 hours (8pm-2am) of it thinking it was 6 episodes. Did they just show the first three over again? (I have only watched the first one.)
Yes, it was amazing! If I were that female bird, I would have given it up...pretty impressive!
