Hey guys, New to the boards, but not new to 'Roo! I wanted to propose this idea and see what the response looked like. My boyfriend is currently serving his THIRD assignment in Iraq. He will be gone through the end of July and therefore is going to miss this year's festival. I send him at least 1 care package a month, along with my letters and occasional phone calls. I was wondering though, how stoked would he be to get a package from Inforooers? Depending on the response to this proposition, I am willing to set up a Paypal account for small donations, give you my address for letters/notes, or any other bright ideas people have.... I'd love to get a great package together for him from this community if people are interested. Let me know or give feedback! -L
I'm all over it!!! T-Shirt, poster, maybe even a slice of spicy pie (ewww, probably not a good idea!) Maybe a group picture of usafhockey and all of us Inforoosters™ with a sign wishing his safe return.
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this

great ideas guys!! I can make a poster like thingy to sign, if someone sends me the art. do you think it would be best to try to gather things together AFTER 'roo to send him? aside from getting great music and such, yummy snacks and personal letters are always appreciated. and socks. he likes white crew socks. dvd's that you might have legallycopiedforyourownenjoyment and wanted to share :-) i could collect this stuff and send it before roo, and then send him the pics of the contributors afterwards.... input on the best way to do this is appreciated.... I'm a bad planner. I'd love to make this special for him and everyone else too! -L
If he is gone through the end of July - don't we need to send any boxes/packages to him prior to Roo to make sure that there is enough time to get to him. Do you have any idea of the time frame it takes for stuff to be recieved over there?
packages usually take about 3 weeks to get there with their mail situation. it depends on what yall want to send and do. i send him packages all the time from me.... this one is gonna be from y'all, so i want it to bear your mark! i will pay for postage obviously and gather everything together.
sounds like there are two options: 1) I could start collecting stuff now and send a care package before 'roo. Afterwards, I could send pics of people who made it happen and anything additional. 2) Everything could wait until after the festival and go in one big lump.
personally, i lean toward the first, but i am open to either, or any other suggestions people might have!
