This list is from an issue of Guitar World a few months ago. There is always disagreements with lists like this but as someone who has listened to a lot of different types of (good) music, I have to say that there are some bands (especially of the jam variety) that were left out. Some past/present roo artists are on there, but maybe you should ask yourself this.. are there enough?

P.S. I havnt listened to that much Megadeth but #25 instantly went into my top ten albums names!
Normally metal music does have a lot more of the extreme guitar riffs and such that are a lot more atterntion grabbing (Opeth and children of Bodom up there grab my eye) so a lot of that I can understand.

Jimi Hendrix is the man, but i agree that Zeppelin IV absolutely slays any of his STUDIO stuff. I think Jimi's studio stuff isnt nearly as good as him live, and its still #3. I also dont think his kingness is undisputed though.

true, i was just kinda mad at the time, i've cooled off. yeah i deffinatly love zepplin four and i think it contains some of the best guitar work ever recorded, and i can understand how its number one. guess i'm just a hendrix fan through and through. glad to see some santana on that list as well ;D
16. THE ESSENTIAL STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN AND DOUBLE TROUBLE (2002) - Stevie Ray Vaughan And Double Trouble
i disagree strongly with the inclusion of this album. not because i don't think stevie ray deserves to be there, but this is essentially a 'greatest hits' album and as best as i can tell, none of the other albums included are compilation albums of that nature. i did see what i think are a few live albums, but still thats more-or-less from a single effort by the musician, not a chance to pull their best material together.
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

I'm glad they gave a nod to Zappa, but a greatest hits album???? The man has released 6 discs of nothing but guitar solos, and they're all brilliant. Oh well, at least they didn't forget him entirely.
edit: I guess were miffed about the same thing xiphoid
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

oh sh-t you're right, didn't notice zappa got shafted with a greatest hits album too. thats 2 then.

i really like all the love metal got on this list
hell yeah dude. i always get pissed when people sh-t on metal, and try to explain the talent it takes a guitar player to play as hard and fast as they do, not to even mention some of their technical abilities.

I'm kinda suprised to see Yngwie above Steve Vai. But i'll say it again, bring Yngwie Malmsteen to bonnaroo!
yngwie is one of the best technical guitar players i've ever heard. i honestly think he's up there, maybe even above, eddie van halen. he doesn't really have the soul of some of the people i consider the best, but man does he fuckng know his scales

theres always the big pinkerton vs. blue album debate form weezer fans. weezer fans love both but theres always one they love more. i'm a blue album fan myself
The Allman Brothers for Live at Fillmore East is idiotically low.
Smashing Pumpkins and Radiohead belong on the list. But they got the wrong albums. The correct answers are Siamese Dream and The Bends.
The lack of soul, blues and funk albums (um, hello Funkadelic?) tells me these are white guys who listen to metal and prog rock. Where are the black people?

^^^Not to defend this list because it is like all other lists (and has poor taste in my opinion) but I believe Jimi Hendrix was black...so I guess you got one on there, and Robert Johnson (although those recordings at 84 is extremely low, for its influence alone it should be in the top 10). But I see what youre sayin, it seems a little biased, but what list isnt, any list i made would probably be just as biased.
in my opinion, Axis Bold as Love or First Rays of the New Rising SUn by Hendrix deserve a higher spot than Are you Experienced?. I second the "blink 182? what?" statement and also the greatest hits thing.
One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain. So hit me with music. Hit me with music, now, yeah. Hit me with music. Brutalize me with music.
nah, I think Blink 182 belongs on this list... I mean, I've never, EVER (crosses fingers) heard a couple B182 songs in a row and wanted to kill myself.... That has to be one of my all time least favourite bands.
