haha i'm allergic to cats too, but its not terrible so i can deal, just leaves me a bit groggy. i love dogs too, but theres just somethin' 'bout cats a love. but theres deffinatly plenty of love in me for dogs too
and i can say i've had both, i'm a little allergic to cats but I seem to have adjusted to the one I have. although if his little nose touches my forearm it gives me itchies.
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this
One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain. So hit me with music. Hit me with music, now, yeah. Hit me with music. Brutalize me with music.

I have really bad allergies to cats also It's so bad for me if I am in the same room as one, I start weezing and can't breathe. It sucks because cats are so sweet.
alright broke the tie. Dogs are the way to go. They are just always happy and I agree with lizardking that i need an animal I can wrestle with and just kinda be all over the place with. Go dogs!

Although I love all animals, I prefer cats cause you don't have to bathe them! I hope to one day have a cat and dog, but my cat now won't allow anything else with fur in the house.
There are cat people and there are dog people, and never the twain shall meet (on an agreement as to which is the better pet - ok, there are a handful of people like me that have both, but by and large the sides are bitter enemies). The vicious rhetoric thrown around by proponents of each pet rivals that of a small town council meeting. Opinions are unwavering and middle ground is non-existent (except when the animals play together, then everyone loves how cute both are).
Here is my very scientific, be-all, end-all analysis on which is the better pet:
Affection Cats: Will rub against you as they walk, but they'll also rub against doors, furniture, etc. Most demand to sit in laps. Dogs: Wag tails, raise eyebrows, even smile. Will sit in your lap if you let them, but are content to lie at your feet. Advantage: Dogs
Ease of Care Cats: They clean themselves and shit in a box you need to clean once a week or so. Dogs: Need to be walked multiple times daily; need special care against heartworm, fleas and ticks Advantage: Cats
Cost Cats: Food and litter; vet visits minimal for indoor cat Dogs: Food, bones, toys, collar, leash, crate; multiple trips to vet per year not uncommon Advantage: Cats
Intelligence/Personality Cats: Can be trained to ignore you; they are the friend who calls when they need something Dogs: Easily trained to sit, come, lie down, roll over, give paw; man's best friend Advantage: Dogs
Relationship Cats: Think of their owners as servants Dogs: Think of their owners as masters Advantage: Dogs
Independence Cats: Can be left alone with extra food for long weekend trips away Dogs: Need to be left with/looked after by friend/family if you are away for even one night Advantage: Cats
Play Cats: Will chase a string for 15 seconds, then stay in stationary pre-attack position for minutes as you frustratingly whip string back and forth right in front of their face Dogs: Will chase a ball until you finally get tired of throwing it Advantage: Dogs
Life Expectancy Cats: May outlive you (not really, but 15 years is pretty common) Dogs: 10 years is a good long life for most Advantage: Cats
Talent Cats: Can climb anything; able to leap tall counters in a single bound Dogs: Can walk on hind legs for several seconds; will never fail to do whatever it takes to make you smile Advantage: Draw
Best Traits Cats: Independence, purring is a nice sleeping aid Dogs: Loyalty, will never hold a grudge Advantage: Draw
Final results: Dogs-4, Cats-4, Draw-2. So this exercise really resolved nothing. Now I need to take Max for a walk and then let Abby sit in my lap.
cats all the way, i mean retractable claws? what are they an x-men? thats pretty badass. plus im really allergic to dogs but only slightly allergic to cats. dogs are sweet too though.

this made me laugh my arse off. and my cat wonders why we stop playing with him.
Cats do smile. Mine does when he climbs on me for his morning cuddles and ear scratches. Such a nice way to wake up in the morning, instead of a dog reminding me that I must go outside in the cold ASAP because nature calls.

Here, kitty kitty. I can't get my 4 to sit in my lap for anything. They have trained me to lie down on the bed and they will come and let me pet them. I love the furry little purr boxes, tho. I'm glad I am only mildly allergic to them.
I like dogs too. Other people's dogs mostly. 'Specially my sister's 2 chihuahuas that sleep under the covers in the winter. Those are some sweet 'lil heaters. They do bark a lot, tho.
