Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Those are among the ones I've been thinking of grabbing. Glad to hear another endorsement. At this point, all I really have are all the Roo ones, just about all the Dead dvds, the High Sierra dvd, and some other assorted things. I'm not sure what it is about the outdoor settings, but they're really the ones I'm looking to find more of, as they're almost always the first I reach for. I need to get all the JamCam stuff -- love what I've seen OnDemand.

don't bother with the cochella dvd. they don't really even play sogns, just clips. its so annoying. the clips are good but i wish they'd play the whole song!
and if you are at all into folk music i highly suggest Festival! its a dvd of the newport folk festivel form like 1969-1971 or something like that. its very very very fun to watch

also if you don't have it i highly suggets the ryan adams music in high places dvd. he plays in jamaca and its really intimate. he also jams with toots at one point.. not really a festival but he's always outside ;D
A Wanee one would be great. I'll definitely keep an eye open.
Man, I've had the Monterey Pop discs on our Netflix queue for quite some time now and have added and deleted them to my Amazon wishlist for years. One of those things that I've always intended on checking out, but never did. Guess I should finally get around to that, eh?
"Stealing? How could you?! Haven’t you learned anything from that guy who gives those sermons at church? Captain What’s-his-name? We live in a society of laws. Why do you think I took you to all those Police Academy movies? For fun? Well, I didn’t hear anybody laughin’, did you? Except at that guy who made sound effects. Where was I? Oh yeah -- stay out of my booze."
I liked the Coachella DVD, and thought it was worth my purchase. True, it's not as good as others, but I like how they put all sorts of different artists on there, and didn't just throw all of one genre on there (like Crossroads dvd or some of the Bonnaroo dvds).
But the Bonnaroo dvds are the best for your buck. Montery Pop is amazing.
edit: I can tell you this, though. Don't pick up the Crossroads dvd. Save for some good performances by Robert Randolph and the like, the whole thing is basically a montage of Eric Clapton whackin off all over the place. And it starts getting really bad when they get more than 5 guitarists on stage playing at once. Everyone's trying so hard not to step on each others feet, it's kinda funny in a trainwreck kinda way.
"We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, movie gods, and rock stars. But we wont, and we're slowly learning that fact & we're very, very pissed off......."
Ted Leo's Dirty Old Town is great, it's a TL/Rx set from an outdoor festival interspersed with other bits and pieces, not a full festival show, but still great.
Oh and the Coachella DVD does have complete songs, I don't think any of them are edited.
but...on this site you can stream over 700 concert videos from the Paradiso and Melkweg clubs in Amsterdam. Not a lot of familiar names but some, and we love new music anyway right!?!

I actually got that through Netflix a few weeks ago and I agree. Seeing one of the greatest live rock n' roll bands ever near their peak made for a great experience. I'd also suggest:
Jimi Hendrix - Blue Wild Angel (Live at the Isle of Wight)

It's not a festival DVD, but it is an outdoor concert at Red Rocks: Incubus - Alive At Red Rocks. I was not a huge fan of them and my fiance bought it for me. It got me hooked on them
Dispatch - All Points Bulletin 2CD, 1 DVD, should be around only 20 bucks 110,000 people went to their "last" show in summer '04, a free show in boston The CDs and DVD are from that show. They are real good. One of the members has a bumper sticker on his guitar that says "people before profit" (they are an independent band who doesnt believe in record companies
I just subscribed to season 2 of the Jam Cam dvds, I'll let you know how they are when they start coming.
I recommend Carlos Santana presents The Blues at Montreux. It is a 3 dvd set from Montreux Jazz Fest, one dvd is Buddy Guy, one is Clarence Gatemouth Brown, and the third is Bobby Parker. Santana makes appearances with all 3 and Niles Rodgers appears a couple times too. It is not outdoors though...but definitely a great dvd. Oh and add me to the list of people who think Monterray Pop is the best concert dvd they've ever seen. Disc 2 has the full Hendrix show and the full Otis Redding show with Booker T and the MGs. How could you go wrong?
