mmm, more women should depend on their husbands to cook. i LOVE cooking!
I do all the cooking in my household - and best of all, my wife offered to do the cleanup (I still load and unload the dishwasher, though).
To the rest of the cooks out there - do you ever feel "guilty" for having to use a larger pan in the middle of making something (run out of room)? Maybe it's just me since I don't do the pans and it means more work for my wife...

My boyfriend and I cook together when we make a big Sunday dinner that produces leftovers for 2/3 days, but our kitchen is only about 5ft x 5ft, so we constantly bump into each other. We like to call it "dancing" in the kitchen. (teenie, tiny kitchen)
We have a dishwasher AND a garbage disposal...love those things!

yea my kitchen is teeny tiny too. i can stand in one spot and empty the dishwasher/cook on the stove/put dishes away while pivoting just a lil bit haha
I love to cook but only if I have someone to cook for - I just moved and I want to have a dinner party
I cook most of the time - Boz cooks sometimes - he made red beans and rice yesterday - but then again - he was home all day.
I like Rachel Ray. Can't stand Paula Dean. Like Emeril sometimes. Love Unwrapped and Good Eats. Iron Chef bores me - both American and Japanese. There is a guy that grills - not Bobby Flay - don't know who he is - but he is awesome - love to watch him grill.

we kinda share the cooking at home my wife is an excellent cook and you can tell by looking at me. She does the inside cooking, I do the outside cooking (Not just grilling, I like the dutch oven as well), and the kids do the cleaning. My oldest son is learning to cook like his mother and the youngest is learning to cook like me.
i'm a HUGE mario batali fan....i love italian food (and italian men:) ), emeril annoys me....that BAM!! shits gotta go! rachel ray i can handle because she makes stuff that i can make, and i don't usually have a lot of time, so the 30 minutes thing is awesome....i don't watch her show much tho, i use her online recipes... paula dean cooks exactly like my mamaw....but her accent is way over the top... the SO and my dad are both addicted to Curtis on TLC, i can't stand him for some reason....but i would still take him home if he came up to me in the grocery store....
edit: and i watch all of the challenges, those chefs are amazing....
"White collar conservative flashin down the street, pointing that plastic finger at me, they all assume my kind will drop and die, but I'm gonna wave my freak flag high." Jimi Hendrix
I handle most of the cooking at home, since it's just two of us I try to cook things that produce leftovers for a few days, or ones that I can kind of use leftovers to make new meals the next day. I can usually rely on my boyfriend to help with cutting things, but one thing we do make together is pasta salad because it does take a lot of prep work. And I make a damn good pasta salad. he also helps me when I'm making cookies, like at christmas or whenever. it's really sweet, he's my bowl mixer. He also usually helps me clean up.
The tradeoff is really he does most of the cleaning. I pick up and stuff and keep up on laundry (most of the time) and he really does a lot of the rest, so I don't have to.
We both like to watch Food Network, he really likes Giada de Laurentis and Nigella Lawson for their "features." Although I'd have to agree with whoever said giada is too skinny to be a cook. It's just not fair. And we both like Alton Brown because it's like Bill Nye the Science guy as a cook, it's basic stuff broken down so it makes sense. I picked up a lot of basic skills from that guy.
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this
I LOVE Rosie!!!...It's about time someone had the balls to say what "the majority" is thinking. She's not afraid to say what's on her mind...and brings up some very poignant thoughts about issues that there is documented proof to what she is saying. There are many more "loud mouths" (as someone called her) out there that don't know what the hell they are talking about and believe what they are "told" to say by their publishers or the networks they work for because they want to keep their jobs. Sometimes you have to be "loud" to be heard...or to get someone to start paying attention and listen to what you are saying. I think there are far worse "out there" than Rosie. And Lizabeth is a twit...I agree. She thinks the faster she says something that it gives her more creditability to what she's saying. I think all it does is.. shows her ignorance...and she spits all over herself. She is young and hasn't had the experience in life to compare what is going on in today's world with.

Alton Brown is one of the most amazing people ever. Avacado cake frosting...need I say more?
All I can think of when I watch Giada is "God, her head is so big compared to her body" It just hypnotizes me. She does make really good food though.
I have a love hate relationship with RR. I would actually rather watch her talk show than 30 minute meals. $40 a day is funny to watch though, because she always tips like 5 per cent.
Mario Batali went to Rutgers, just like me! So I have to like him...and his orange crocs and shorts.
Emeril: kind of annoying, Paula Deen: love her and her accent, Bobby Flay: Throwdown is fun, Sandra Lee: she makes like two cocktails per 30 minute show, which is hilarious, Nigella: love her accent, and one time she made the best looking brownies ever.
"They won't break me because the desire for freedom, and the freedom of the Irish people, is in my heart. The day will dawn when all the people of Ireland will have the desire for freedom to show. It is then that we will see the rising of the moon."
Glad to know I'm not the only food dork around here.
Alton Brown is my hero. Dude is so awesome.
And the Rachel Hatred makes me a sad panda =(
I definitely agree about the "E.V.O.O." thing being annoying though. But even moreso is the fact that she has to actually SAY what EVOO stands for everytime she says it. If youre going to do that, dammit...JUST SAY "EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL"!

i agree with that also, if you are going to use initials for something, why do you then have to go and say the whole phrase ... just dumb .... and .....I decided in the totality of world events , if we disagree on if RR is a good cook, or personality, and that is our current discussion, we are a pretty good bunch of people … and I seem to be in the minority lol … cr****
I will add to the Rachel Ray hatred. The worst one is $40 a day, but I hate all of her shows.
Giada I love. My favorite is Michael Chiarello (Easy Entertaining). Kinda like Paula Deen (watching her right now). Love both Iron Chefs, prefer the original. And I am in the minority, but I like Emeril Live. Essence of Emeril not so much. And Alton Brown is really growing on me, didn't like him at first, but I enjoy his show nowadays.
Oh and I think that semi-homemade show is a joke. I don't need someone to show me how to make instant cake.

I like $40 a Day because the only way she is able to only spend $40 when she's eating a respectable establishements is to tip like three cents to every waiter/waitress. "Well my lunch was $9.00, and with tax and tip that came out to $10. 83!"
Also, Ham On The Street is pretty entertaining. So is The Hungry Detective. I'm pretty sure that guy is a robot.
