Recently, after disagreeing with someone, I've noticed a trend. Everytime this person posts or logs-on, I lose 2 or 3 karma points. I have no problem with people disagreeing with me or my opinions. What I do have a problem with is petty retaliation. This person only has a handful of posts and has senselessly started sh!t in the majority of them. Some of his posts are just one-sentence insults that aren't even really on-topic. He seems to get some sort of kick out of flaming. If that's how he wants to be, that's cool with me. It is his god-given right to be a childish jackass. I think that what really bugs me about this, is the fact that he apparently thinks that he's hurting me. Come on, man. It's all make-believe! If that's all you've got, you're sadder than I thought! He's not even making any progress. He smites me 3 times but, before he logs back on I get exalted 4 times. Actually, now that I think about it, that may be the saddest part of it all. He's trying to hurt or insult me but, he's really just chasing his tail!
Anyway, I'm asking all of you fine folks to do me a personal favor and start smiting me. If you guys could help me out, at least once a day (preferably more), It would be greatly appreciated.
I just want to show this silly little man that I don't care how much karma I lose while taking his childish fun away from him.
I'm aiming for 0 by Bonnaroo! Please help! Thanks! (karma for anyone who helps out)
-Josh

I sitll dont understand why some poeple still take the karma so frickin serious. Don't get me wrong, I love it and all, but it is just a fun way to pass on good cheer and to tell a person in a thread or otherwise you like what was just said or not. No reason to make it all serious and make it into a vendetta.
But hey, to help the cause..i'll smite away (then maybe just to piss you off i'll through some karma in their randomly..muahahah)

I understand where you're coming from, oatmeal. Each day I leave work with one number, and come back to a different, lower number. I think I know who it is, but that's purely a guess.
I know how it feels, and it bothers me to a point, but now it's just gotten to be funny and makes me glad I have other things to do than sit around smiting someone for something that happened days ago. (again, that is my guess as to who it is...i'm probably wrong.)
I can't do it - I just cannot do it - because if I am smiting you then I am not able to give karma for at least an hour and it is inevitable that as soon as I smite you, I will read something that I want to give karma for and because I would have to wait an hour to give karma, I would forget and no karma would ever be given.

I would like thank my good friend, legannhoj for his contribution. Megan & Boz, I understand what you are saying. I really dig the sentiment. However, I ask that you keep me in mind. If you're having a bad day or something, I'm here for you. ;D

I would smite you just to honor your request, but you listed Rhinestone as one of your favorite movie soundtracks which demonstrates not only good taste but good judgement.
That makes you perhaps the most awesome human being on this board, and to smite you would somehow be dishonoring the greatest Bob Clark movie to ever feature Sylvester Stallone as a New York cab driver turned country music singer .
So I can't smite you on general principle, but I won't exalt you again if it makes you feel better.
"Stealing? How could you?! Haven’t you learned anything from that guy who gives those sermons at church? Captain What’s-his-name? We live in a society of laws. Why do you think I took you to all those Police Academy movies? For fun? Well, I didn’t hear anybody laughin’, did you? Except at that guy who made sound effects. Where was I? Oh yeah -- stay out of my booze."

I recently accidentally either smited or exalted someone, it may have been at smite at you...I really don't know, I was just suddenly on their profile with my smite/exalt privileges revoked.

LMAO! Thanks! ;D I wish you would reconsider but, even if you don't, you're are getting mad karma for that post (soon)! That just made my day! Listen for classics like "Drinkenstein" at Roo this year. Follow the smooth sound of Sly's voice and you will find me! We have to have a beer or smoke or something!

Glad you liked it. The fact that "Drinkenstein" was mentioned on this board made my day....hell, the fact that it was mentioned anywhere made my day....
It will be an honor to share a beer or smoke or whatever with you. If you bring that soundtrack to the Roo, you will be elevated from most awesome human being on this board to most awesome human being ever and we'll have to dazzle the community with our interpretation of Sly's greatest hits.
Good luck on your smiting quest, and God bless Rhinestone
