honey nut wehat bread, peanut butter, banana slices, honey. i call it, the Trifecta. for those of you who are really looking to up the ante in terms of goodness, make the sandwich and leave it in a ziploc bag at room temp. for 24hrs and the honey will crystalize a little bit and add a nice lil crunch but either way its god in between two slices of bread.

The best sandwich must be the fattiest, unhealthiest sandwich, and that's a Monte Cristo. Deep-fried and dusted with sugar, it's the culinary manifestation of the philosophy that life is short and you should enjoy it.
Pastrami on rye with mustard is my favorite, but you have to heat up the pastrami first to make it the right way. I guess, a smoked meat sandwich is my actual favorite, but since I left Montreal 12 yrs ago and don't have a Moe's deli around, pastrami on rye is clos enough.

Ooh, I love the Monte Cristo. Haven't had one in years. I love it with that raspberry jelly stuff. But it's so greasy, I can't eat the whole thing, and I usually have very icky tummy afterward. But yum...
There's a nice little restaurant called the Hyde Park Grille here in Austin that serves a Yellowfin Tuna Steak Sandwich...amazing. Best sandwich out there.
mmm i like the smokehouse turkey panini from panera... just had it yesterday
the sundried tomato ale mustard they put on it should be bottled and sold there, i totally don't understand why it's not! (they sell everything else, like dipping oil, etc)

I work at a sub shop and I only eat two sandwiches there. The first is a double provolone, bacon, chicken, BBQ sauce sub, bonus points when I heat it up and it the cheese gets nice and melty.
My favorite, though, consists of the following: mayo, double provolone, ham, turkey, bacon if i have some extra cash, onions, lettuce, oregano and a bit of oil.
Certainly not the healthiest, but the best sandwich I've ever tried.
Karma for being hip to the Quorn !! It's probably my favorite pre-made meat substitute. Such a light texture. If ya ask me, it's an improvement on the taste of chicken. Plus the Quorn roast blows away the tofurkey roast. Slice that beast up with some mushroom gravy. oh yeaaaaahhh
I make a mean tempeh rueben. Swiss, rye, kraut, garlic encrusted tempeh, and thousand island. hot damn- i can see it on the front of my shirt now !!!!!

I'm not vegitarian but looooove veggie food and I've always been curious about Quorn. I eat Morningstar farms fake chicken all the time, but sometimes I wish I had a non-breaded version for certain things. Does it kinda taste like chicken (like Morning star), or it more of a bland base (like some others I've tried)?
its a tie between cream cheese and jelly on white bread, and pine nut hummus, lettuce, tomatos, red peper, alfalfa sprouts, onion, and basalmic vinegar on a toasted everything bagel.

It's certainly not of the breaded variety. But it also is much less bland/heavy/doughey than tofu based stuff.
It is actually most similar to a culinary wild mushroom called "chicken of the woods".
It comes in bits for fajitas or stir-fry and in a "roast". Looks like a tube of sausage.
They brew it, so it is very mycologically similar. And very sustainable. Good protein content. But the texture, by far, is the best part about it. Very light !
Quorn comes both breadded (nuggets, patties, pattiesw/gruyere cheese) and not (roast, naked cutlets, strips). Those all are all really good. I don't much like the beef line.
Morningstar farms crumbles, bacon and sauage are the best. We also have something call Smart food, which makes bbq and other pre-cooked meals, some of those are tasty as well.
I eat a lot of tofu and seitan as well. Once you learn to cook with it it's much easier than real meat.

We got Jimmy John's here too, they're great for a late night drunken snack. And I loooove how they deliver! Their best sandwich by far is the Italian Night Club...mmmmm....0hhh man, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
But, my most favorite sandwich out of all of em is the Chicken Carbonara from Quiznos. If you have never tried this sandwich, do yourself a favor and DO IT!
