OK, I need help on DVD formats. My daughter turns 16 next week really, really wants a box set of Full Metal Alchemist DVD's that she's seen at a local store. Stupid me left it too late and it was gone by the time I went to buy it. I found a similar set online and it was listed as "Regions coding: 0, ALL, NTSC". Now they've arrived the box states that it's "Region 2". No refunds on opened items so before I hand them over - will they play on my regular DVD player? How about on a PC?
It's got a map of the region and their respective codes. If the website said it's region 0, but it's actually region 2, I would hope you could return it, whether it's open or not, cuz that's bs.

it should play in your pc, but make sure first. if you have windows media it will work if not you can download something. it won't work on your tv tho; but i've been told that there's ways to make your dvd player region free i'm not sure how tho
It's a Liteon LVW-1107HC1 recorder. Having checked the web site and the box they clearly lied so I won't worry about returning an open box, but I'd still like to know if they'll work so she won't be disappointed on her birthday morning.

this is supposed to work on that particular model:
1.Enter "Setup" menu on the screen. 2.Scroll down and highlight "Exit". 3.While "Exit" is highlighted enter 2,9,6, and 0 and press "Enter". 4.A hidden menu pops up and you can select your region.

She has good taste. We have the full set of Full Metal Alchemist and it's a great anime series. Always better watched in Japanese with sub-titles though
