Happy 4th of July, everyone! While we'll all admit that our country has its faults, (and I am usually quick to point them out )the US began, and remains, a "Grand Experiment" in the the cause of representative government. The results of this experiment are, as of this moment, mixed but we as a country were the first to put into action the thought that people can completely rule themselves. We have no need of kings and the transition of leadership need not be bloody. Common place thoughts today but radical ideas two and a half centuries ago. The US blazed the path that the world has followed.
I sometimes wonder if people have the intellect and discipline to rule themselves. But the 4th always gives me a little pride in that our country began as an idealistic dream of government as an agent of the good in every man. We may stray from that good but history has proven that as long as one good person remains, hope is still alive. America gives us the opportunity. It is up to each of us to try and be that one good person.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

heyy guys! happy 4th of july ;D i just got back from the beach and I feel lucky cuz DAMN the weather sucks now - going to go watch the fireworks on the 37th floor overlooking the east river.. it should be awesome as long as the rain holds out
i never have to work holidays, but if i do, i make i think 3 1/2 times my normal pay .... that would be like 475 -500 to work just for the day .... when i am given that option, i usually say yes .... sucks but dude, 500 bucks for one day .... cr****
F*ck Yes I love this country everything about it sometimes not the decisons of leaders, but then again leaders are always scrutinized ...this too shall pass....and we will find a new leader to scrutinize but all in all good times ...we are free! just think my ancestors were poor immigrants and now i own a computer...a dream come true, i never knew my great grandparents from Poland, and I know nothing about the country save what I have read on wikipedia and ina few other real encyclopedias, I don't know Polish and neither does my 3rd generation mother, maybe it is sad, but it is assimilation by which we survive and become "American" i just took 3 semesters of german, a "repulsive" country and language to my grandparents and great grandparents because Germany repeatedly invaded my "motherland" Poland, but yet I know nothing of these crimes and I live the American dream and I am happy, I am a Happy Irish/Polish/Scottish/Mutt American and fuck yes Bless this hallowed land, and while are forefathers were not without sin neither are we....
How do you celebrate? i liked to watch the History channel, but I don't think our ancestors watched it during July 4th, I think they celebrated, got drunk and shot their old muskets into the air.
