I try to stay out of other people’s business … to each his/her own … BUT … I saw this at lunch and it made me so mad … I would have gone over and said something, but they were too far away from where I was parked … I work in a 4 story bldg for the gov’t … I am at lunch sitting in my truck, and in the other parking lot adjacent to mine, I see this girl/woman come out of the main entrance … well she throws down a skateboard, and weaves her way thru the traffic (and it is busy in that lot) … she doesn’t have on a helmet or pads … that part is “to each her own” … oh, I think I failed to mention, she was carrying a FLIPPING BABY ABOUT 1 YEAR OLD … that was just wrong … if she wants to get banged up by cars, so what, but she should never have put that baby in that situation …. So am I being unreasonable and not minding my own business, or should I have went over there and really told her off … just wondering … cr****

I completely agree with you that she never should be putting a baby in that situation. Really, she shouldn't be putting herself in that position... like you said "to each his/her own." I have often found it's best to leave people like that be though. Confronting them about their irresponsibility only unleashes a whole new level of immaturity the majority of the time. Chances are, if you had gone up to her and tried to tell her your opinion if she even gave you the time of day and stopped to hear your comments- which is unlikely in itself, she would have refuted them and said she knows what she's doing and does it all the time so bug off.
As a mom - I have to say - I would have had to say something - that is just wrong - it is one thing to put yourself at risk - but to put a child that cannot fent dor itself at risk is plain irresponsible
Maybe it should have been placed under another heading. The other tent?
I think can was just so blown away by what he saw today... I know I would have been.
I think having a baby on board a skateboard is awful. That doesn't mean ALL skaters would do something like that. I think even can knows that
yep i guess i should have put it under a different place ... mods, if you need to do that, i will understand ... and as a title, i know all skaters dont suck ... it was just to get attention .... my first little skateboard, i got for christmas in 63 i think, so i have been behind skaters for more years then some people have been around ... cr****
well unfortunately, this woman is going to have to learn the hard way, and what is even more unfortunate is that it won't be at her expense, it will be the, fragile, child's...

Random(ish):
Hilari, Atl3103, his gf Jenn and my own bad self were having some drinks in Little 5 points before Claypool's incredible show here in Atlanta the night before Roo. (Bonnaroo, that is) We were sitting against the outside wall on the patio of this bar when I heard a guy yelling about a "goddamn cracker" from the road behind me. As I turned around, the packed patio collectively gasped. Some IGNORANT, DESPICABLE, WORTHLESS JACKASS was looking down the sidewalk behind him, screaming at a car that was pulling out of the parking lot.............
WHILE HIS CHILD'S STROLLER ROLLED INTO TRAFFIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If it hadn't been for the quick reflexes of the driver of the car (that was inches from running over this helpless, strapped-in toddler) and the entire Brew House yelling at him, this obliviously ignorant, ridiculously useless, lower-than-slugshit caveman would have let his daughter be seriously injured (if not worse) so that he could wave his limp d!ck at someone. Honestly, I have no idea what started "it" but, i'm positive it wasn't worth what could've happened.
As he FINALLY got his head somewhat straight and pulled his child out of the road, he started yelling and cursing at everyone on the patio. According to Captian AssLick, we were the ones at fault. We were just "damn drunks" who "didn't know a f*cking thing" about what we (30 + people) had all just witnessed first-hand, from 20-30 feet (MAX) away. Mr. Wet Fart stormed off, cursing to himself like Yosemite Sam.
So, no! Irresponsible douchbags like this will not recognize or accept ANY interference from ANYONE else, no matter what the circumstance. In fact, it only seems to strengthen their feeble-minded resolve.
Sad but true.

hmm i think this may be a tad harsh. i wasnt there so i cant make a solid judgment but maybe this chick was a very competent skateboarder and had confidence that she could safely transport her child that way. Maybe she loved her child very much and is just a free spirit that doesent always analyze every possible thing that could go wrong. Maybe she'll grow out of it. I will say that the guy in oatmealz post obviously sucks at life.
"We'd all think and act more sanely if we had to use "maybe alot more often. Can you imagine a world with Jerry Falwell hollering "Maybe jesus 'was' the son of God and maybe he hates gay people as much as i do" -- or every towern in Islam resounding with "There 'is' no god except maybe Allah and maybe Muhammad 'is' his prophet. - Robert Anton Wilson on "Maybe Logic"
I like that guy Bill Engvall's idea.. I'm gonna start carryin a lil stick around, and when i see some bull like this... BAM smack on the back of the neck.. if you see someone with a whole bunch of stick-marks on their neck, dont trust em... their an eeeeeeejjit.
