HAHA! My mother has never in her life not been able to bring herself to NOT say something! Even if it was ABSOLUTELY the WRONG thing to say! And it usually is.....sigh. So, if I offend anyone, sorry, you know I come by it honest ;D

My mom knows that one of my best friends growing up sells cocaine, yet she has no clue that I have ever even smoked cigarettes. She's too overwhelmed by everyone else's business to worry about me.
OK, so YOU guys all got the parents with the "Oh no, it's not MY child" parents - LOL! I was wondering who got those. 'Cause I knew it wasn't ME! Whenever my mom heard of something bad happening she ALWAYS assumed and accused me...she wasn't going to miss an opportunity! OK...so a lot of the time she was right....but it was only about 60/40.....so I got someone else's punishment a heck of a lot of the time for no good reason!
HA! Now I just feel stupid! I guess I wasn't good enough at being sneaky and lying and hiding things....sigh. Oh well.....hindsight is a good thing, maybe I'll find a use for it yet....LOL!

i couldnt hide it when i was "in the zone". my eyes turned solid red...the drops worked but didnt really help cause they would get a little red and puffy AROUND them and was easily noticeable. other than that i could conduct myself pretty well
My mom only knew because I told her... but I told her I haven't since my boyfriend (now hubby) was going through chemo several years and I was doing it with him for moral support, and he based upon doctor's suggestion. She thought me going to Bonnaroo would be "scary people forcing bad drugs like LSD and PCP and heroin and of course that marijuana on kids who would otherwise say no." I said I know how to Just Say No and she then only cared if I would see Bob Dylan ("he may do drugs, but he is still a talented man!")
yeah, i saw it, pretty good stuff. The ladt with the stutter was the most noticeable change
No doubt! I kept wanting her to hurry up and score and smoke just so I could see how it was going to affect her.
What about the guy who is still getting his gvmt weed? Cruising on his yacht smoking, driving in his car smoking, going to the smoking area at work and smoking.

Funny story from shortly after Roo. I started reading The Chronicles of Bob Dylan (excellent read, btw) and my mom asked "now was he one of those drug users too?" and my response was "Mom. He was in his prime in the 60s and 70s, that's all I'm gonna say." She apparently was oblivious to the fact that all her favorites growing up with off their rockers on drugs...
^ My mom recently asked if Rainy Day Women was about drugs. She says she was oblivious to all music and drugs because she dated a Somalian and then a Greek so spent her late 60s and early 70s listening to foreign music. She didn't get into Dylan until the last decade.
i guess my mom picked her battles and pot wasn't one of them...back in the good ol days she'd rather have me smoking at home than going out and not knowing what i was doing
After my parents saw that smoking didn't make me flunk out of school or quit work they just accepted it. My Dad even said "Just don't light up in the living room or anything." But I'm the 10th kid in my family and they saw the non-smokers getting in more trouble than we smokers so I guess that helped some.

I even got my Mom stoned for the first time.
I admire you even more now, Troo. Both for having atleast 10 brothers/sisters (I know you didn't control that, but it's still sweet) and also cause you got your mom stoned. That's just awesome. Obviously, your parents kept trying to produce the perfect kid and it took them 10 tries
^^^I think that rocks - I don't have the patience to have that many kids - 3 is enough for me and I still get weird looks from people because I did not have what society considers the normal "2" children.
