My sister often goes into the room and her son, who is 3, is either giggling or talking and there is no one else in the room. When she asks him what he is doing, he tells her he was talking to the big man who is always smiling.......
My father who died before any of our children were born, was around 400lbs (a very big man!) and he always had a smile on his face. One of the happiest people I have ever been around.
So we like to think he is watching over his grandkids
When my youngest daughter was an infant, I put her down for a nap in her crib (when I say infant - I mean about 3-4 months old). I was in the living room folding laundry and heard her cry over the monitor. I waited a few min to see if she would put her self back to sleep and sure enough - all was quiet. When I went to check on her, she was in the middle of her crib, asleep, covered with her blankie (I had not covered her when I put her down) and her rocking chair was rocking away in the corner.
Oh yeah - we also have a little girl that - how weird is this - she was with us in out last house and we bought a new house and it seems she came with us. I will catch her running down the hallway out of the corner of my eye. There are times that I have cought Reenie (the 2 year old) just talking away with her and at night, when I am on the computer, I have had balls roll across the room when everyone else in the house is asleep.
We also think the woman who owned the house before us still comes through every now and then. She died before we bought the house, her daughters sold the house. She was in hospice. But it was obvious from the furniture that was in the house and the landscaping fo the yard, the decorator touches through out the house, that she LOVED her house, so it just neems natural that she would come check on it now and then.
after my grandmother died at all family gatherings strange things would happen. usually lights flickering.
my mother has always been very spiritual. she saw a figure that she believed to be her grandfather walking down the driveway. one day reading in her bedroom she smelled the perfume my dad's mom used to wear and saw an imprint in the bed like someone was sitting there.
supposedly after she passed, my grandmother would pull the covers up on my grandfather and tuck him in sometimes
late at night i was in my kitchen and all of a sudden i heard this loud noise in the basement. it was this old radio we had that just suddenly turned on at full volume...scared the sh*t out of me. it was not fun walking down the basement stairs in the middle of the night to turn it off. i have no idea who the radio used to belong to.
my boyfriend lived in many different old houses when he was young. His family moved into one but left before they completely unpacked because there definitely was something very negative there. Things would be moved, doors would be locked and lots of other weird things. I don't know all the details, but his mom is dead serious when you talk to her about it.
I know I've told this one before but you may have missed it. A few years ago I had a dream that I was on a bus with The Ramones. I was a big fan back in the day and I still listen to them, but I had no particular reason to be thinking about them at the time. Anyway, this was an old London bus (I grew up in London) where you would sit facing four people across the aisle. All four Ramones were in the seat opposite me and Johnny and Dee-Dee were quite chatty. I really wanted to talk to Joey but he just sat motionless hiding his face behind his hair and no matter how I tried he wouldn't acknowledge me.
Next morning I woke up to the news that Joey had died overnight. He had been fighting lymphoma for some time, but I had no idea about that until later.

I didn't witness this happening, a friend told me about it happening to him, so I don't know 100% that it's true, but this friend has never bullshitted me before...
When he was 15 years old he was staying alone in his parents house for the first time. He was going to have friends over but there was an awful thunderstorm out that night which made all of us just want to stay home and not drive anywhere. My friend says at night as he was about to get ready for bed he heard screaming from outside the house. He looked out his window, and saw nothing and figured it was just his imagination. He went to get back in bed and as soon as he lied down again he heard screaming. He looked out the window again and saw nothing, but this time he went downstairs and walked outside to see what was going on. As soon as he stepped into his front yard lightning struck the side of his house right were his room was, which went up in flames immediately. Had he been asleep, surely he would've been burned alive, or atleast come damn close.

Here's one that I read on coasttocoasam.com that really gives me the creeps...
I am a police officer for the city of East Point in Georgia. I work the morning watch, midnights to all you regular people. For a period of about three weeks we would get an alarm call at a local carry-out pizza store every night at approximately 0200 hours. The point of activation was always interior motion, lobby. I did not regularly respond to this alarm because it was not on my beat, but the responding officers always said the store was secure and no intruders.
Since I am a training officer, it became my turn to train a recruit on that area of town. Of course, at the appropriate time we got the alarm call at the pizza store, interior lobby motion. We arrived on scene and the door was secure. Looking through the window I could see that there was no one in the lobby.
There is a security camera monitor to the rear of the cash register. I began to observe the monitor to see if any of the cameras in the other part of the store showed anything. As the pictures change, the lobby camera picture came up. To my astonishment I could see what looked like a person sitting on the bench in the lobby dressed in all black with crossed legs and head tilted down. I immediately looked to my right to check the bench visually through the window and there was no one there. I thought maybe the lateness of the hour was playing tricks on me so I waited for the picture again, and once more I saw the image. I was able to take a photo of the monitor and of the bench area that it faces.
A very weird experience. Since that morning there have been no more alarms at the store. It appeared that the monitor was picking up a shadow person or a ghost. I guess I may have scared it off with the photos because it has not returned. These events happened in the month of July 2006.
I have never seen a ghost personally, but my mom and grandfather saw the same ghost in the same house 8 years apart.
My mom was sleeping in my grandparents guest bedroom one night in 1981 when she awoke to a very cold room. At the time my mom had very long straight hair (think Crystal Gayle). She says she felt something pick up her hair and then drop it as if someone was running their hands through her hair. She immediately broke out into goosebumps and after a couple of seconds she got up the courage to look over her shoulder and saw a glowing white woman leaving the bedroom through the door, which was closed at the time.
In 1989 my grandmother was sleeping peacefully when my grandfather woke her up by slapping the wood side of their waterbed and yelling "GET OUT OF HERE!!!". When she asked him what was wrong (she thought he was talking to her) he said it was nothing and told her to go back to sleep. My grandmother said he was white as a sheet and shaking. The next morning he called my mom and told her that he had seen the same white woman standing at the end of the bed when he woke up.
P.S. The house my grandparents lived in is in Manchester, TN.
