Okay, so pretty self explanatory. I want to learn how to spin poi/glowsticks. I used to date a guy who could do it and he tried to teach me, but I never really learned how.
So, a few questions for all of you who know how:
1) How should I make my practice poi? Should I buy them or make them? 2) What are some good websites to learn how to spin? 3) How long will it take before I can do some basic things?
Any advice is welcome and appreciated. I think spinning is really neat (especially in certain situations ;D) and I'm really excited about learning how to do it!

okay i do it and i used to spin fire.. been doing it a lil more than usual just cuz of my recent festival activity and who ive been hanging with..
as far as practice poi - you should go online to www.homeofpoi.com/ where they sell good start up ones. if ur cheap like me, i got creative and used beanie babies on shoelaces lol. i dont remember websites, but ill google around - if you practive ALOT you will get alot of things going in a few days. the best way is to find someone to practice with -
but yea, just keep practicing - be obsessed with it - and youll get it.
Okay, so I am totally going to wal-mart tonight to pick up some tennis balls and some cord...I would buy a practice kit but I am too broke right now. Hopefully when I get some extra cash I can pick up some cords or something....I am so excited!

the thing about tennis balls is taht your gonna be wacking yyourself and things around you a BUNCH when you first start, so if you can find BEANBAGS or make em yourself - taht would do better ..but tennis balls work too -
aha - I can do that this weekend - bet I still end up covered with bruises - but I think my 9 year old would like to learn and it would be a fun thing to do with her
