It's my last day at work for a while, so I'm going to keep a tally of all the pranks/jokes i'm pulling on coworkers today. To start it off, I just replaced all the plastic knives that we have here with those old school lego swords. I knew that old collection would come in handy
Well, it was a toss up between this or the drunken rambling thread and since I'm not drunk *yet* guess this wins ...sigh....
I had one of the shittiest days at work today that I can remember in a long time and some of you that are on InfoVooDoo know that is saying a LOT!! And the hell of it is....I can't even TALK about it IhatemyjobIhatemyjobIhatemyjobIhatemyjob.......ARRRGH!
I got email that I have been shortlisted for a job in Pittsburgh. That doesn't sound like someplace I really want to move....but tonight it's sounding REALLY tempting......

^^Sorry to hear you had a rough day bama... I had one of those days as well. I, however, am drunk so I rambled about mine in the drunken rambling thread.
pittsburg is nice... maybe even a nice small town just outside of pittsburg to live in. I have relatives up there and they love it.
^^^ Thanks for the encouragement.....and the info Strum. I may have to seriously look into the Pitts thing if they can come up with the money then. I'll at least reply back and see what they say.....I try to never burn bridges. And after today....I DEFINITELY want to hear what ANYONE has to offer.....this is just getting ridiculous! It was 103 here today unadjusted temp....and I never saw the sun.....but I would have rather been working outside ALL day than doing what I was doing.......some things just aren't worth it.......
For the last hour or so, there has been NONSTOP chanting which I can only assume is coming from the people auditioning for American Idol at the Georgia Dome, which is about a mile or so from my office. It is seriously about to drive me batshit crazy!!!
^^^I have since learned that I was wrong . . . it was not Idol auditioners, it is people on strike the next block over from my office. Now, I only wish it had been the Idol people as they would have been gone last week! I really hope they resolve their problems soon because they are seriously going to make me insane!!!

Do you know what they are on strike for?
No, I tried looking it up but I wasn't able to find anything. I think it may have something to do with wages. For the record, I understand that there may be a need to strike. . . I just wish they weren't doing it so close to my window. (Actually, right now, it is actually pretty quiet).
^^^LOL! I understand your predicament...you want to be in Solidarity, but you also want peace and quiet....maybe they will go for a silent sit-in...that way you both win
So, after a "great" week already (car broke down, Jesus's job), I just checked online to see the delivery status of a tent I had ordered from Sierra Trading Post. It said it had been delivered yesterday at 4:00, and that it was signed for by someone named William. We had checked yesterday afternoon and it was not there, but Jesus went back up to look. Still not there, so I called the office. The girl who answered said she would have been the one who signed for it, but she also did not see it in the package closet and she did not remember UPS being in there late yesterday. So, when I asked her if there was nothing they were going to do, she said "well, so many people get so many different kinds of packages, there is really no way for us to keep track of who gets them." (Hmm, maybe you shouldn't SIGN FOR THEM THEN!!!). In essence, she just said, "Too bad for you." So, I called Sierra Trading Post back, and they contacted UPS who is going to put a trace on it to determine if they should stop leaving things outside of people's doors in the apartment building. You think? It hardly seems like a good idea to me to leave a package just sitting outside someone's door when god knows how many people walk by that door every day!!!
So, the tent (which was a $200 tent on sale for $80) is now sold out, and if they can't locate the one I ordered, they are going to give me a credit for it. So, now I'm going to have an $80 credit with Sierra Trading Post. WTF am I supposed to do with that?
edit: on the bright side, they say bad things come in threes. Maybe we are done with bad for awhile. . .
edit: they found our package. The UPS guy delivered it to a store across the street from our apartment building!

I have felt like I am driving through a mini-Bonnaroo every day this week. Imagine driving through shakedown every day. Nascar is here this week in Bristol and there are campers, people, gaudy souvenirs, and trash everywhere.
Why must people be so dirty? Why do they have to leave their beer bottles all over the side of the road? Clean up your sh!t. Don't come to this "city" to just trash it and leave.
My grrr for the day (and this is going to really gross Jesus out!): It smells like someone was microwaving fish in our kitchen here at work! Kind of made me lose my appetite!

ewww.
Okay, 2 things that annoy me right now:
1) We have an ant infestation in our apartment. A BAD ONE. However, my roommate whose parents are our landlords refuses to call pest control. I woke up to ants in my bathroom today! Grr. It's gross and really, really annoying :/
2) I'm in a cast until Thursday, it's really uncomfortable, and I'm going out tonight with a cast on I want to get it off and have my ankle be healthy!
I am tired of untalented, rich, spoiled, brats going to jail for 5 minutes for whatever crime they have decided to perpetrate that day. 82 minutes for Nicole Richie WTF ???
LOS ANGELES - Nicole Richie was released from jail Thursday after serving 82 minutes of a four-day sentence for driving under the influence of drugs.
The reality show star, who checked into a women's jail at 3:15 p.m., was released at 4:37 p.m. "based on her sentence and federal guidelines," Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy Maribel Rizo said without elaborating.
