While it may not be socially acceptable, a good arse-whooping sure does teach a lesson.
I have a vivid memory as a child that involves me walking around the house with a big glass full of soda. I was sitting in the room with our piano in it and my dad told me to sit down at the kitchen table with the glass because it was too full and he didn't want me to spill it or drop it. Of course, I figured I knew way more than my dad about drinking out of glasses and continued to stay in the room and spilled my drink all over the carpet. I got off "easy" with a lecture and being sent to my room for rest of the night.
The next week, I was back in the room with another to-the-brim glass of soda fiddlin' on the piano. My dad came in and told me if I spill the drink on the carpet again I'd be sorry and to get in the kitchen. Again, I figured I still knew more about this than my dad and continued to fiddle around on the piano. I ended up dropping the glass directly on the edge of the piano, leaving a massive dent in the wood, which was now stained with dark cola as well as the carpet being stained. My dad came in and told me I was the biggest idiot in the world and I told him it wasn't my fault that the glass slipped out of my hand and his response was the back of his hand against my cheek.
Moral of the story: I never entered that room with a drink again until I was atleast 13 years old. ( i was maybe 6 or 7 at the time I think...)
^^^I have VIVID memorys of being thrown through the air for painting my bike in the living room on a rainy day, Also got a severe beating for taking the car when i was 13 , i had a few good azz whippings .. That was then ..Today things are different.. you cant touch your kids . If you do It is Poss to go to jail...

I dont think there is anything wrong with being old fashoned. When I was a kid, I had a biting problem, until my dad picked me up from day care, brought me home, told me to pull down my pants and he busted my azz. 5 times. I never bit another kid after that...
Biting and scratching things up are two different things...but I'm just saying.. ;D

Why is it that everytime I call the cable company to get my internet fixed or deal with some problem I end up explaining the company's policies to the person on the phone? C'mon, we all know you require MAC Address cloning. Just own up to it and take care of my problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't call just to say hi and listen to your hold music for half an hour.
ahhh - but here is the key to making the bar type bad - make them bite off a chunk, chew it and swallow it - have never had to do it - just the threat of it seems to do the trick

I saw my mom make my brother do that once (maybe not the swallowing part but....) I never used foul language as a child after seeing that.

Yes eating the bar type would have been very bad. I'd keep my dirty little mouth shut if that was on the table.
My mom got me SceneIt Movies 2 for Christmas from Target. Because I already have it, I tried to return it yesterday, but they won't take it back without a receipt or the credit card it was purchased with. Of course, my mom did not hand out receipts with all our Christmas gifts, so I did not have one. Luckily, she still has it . . . well, to be more accurate, my little brother (who is currently away from home at a tennis tournament) has it. So, now I have to wait for him to get home, and her to mail it to me (she lives 3 1/2 hours from me), so that I can take it back.
I assume this policy is to avoid people stealing stuff and bringing it back for cash/credit, but it's less than a week after Christmas, and I imagine plenty of other people are in the same situation (or a worse one) than I am. So, it kind of seems to me like they are just treating their customers like criminals and creating a great deal of frustration.
Target also tho prints out gift receipts - I know because I made sure that I taped them to any rpesents I gave from Target - in case they needed to be taken back

Don't sell yourself short man. A nice intelligent guy is a lot harder to find than a job (after college of course). Besides if a girl comes with a recommend from a 'rooer like Meg she must be pretty cool.
She has been to 'roo with me the last year and I am sure if we make it this year - she will be with us - but it is very doubtful that we will be there this year
She has been to 'roo with me the last two years and I am sure if we make it this year - she will be with us - but it is very doubtful that we will be there this year

OMG! That is some of the worst post-whoring I've seen. Even for you Meg. Quoting your post from a minute before, just to get to #6400.
Someone needs to start a Camp Bonnaroo for kids somewhere nearby. Like sleep-away camp for Bonnaroo weekend. The kids could do fun kid stuff, while the parents are enjoying their Bonnaroo.
