I think this point was raised after Bonnaroo, but if anyone watched the webcasts from Lollapalooza they would have noticed that some of Pearl Jam's lyrics were censored regarding George Bush.
Does anyone else remembering them doing this during the JBT and Flaming Lips shows?
I emailed a reporter at Wired about it, because AT&T are saying it was a mistake when it happened during Pearl Jam. They are full of BS because I know they did the same thing during anything negative being said Bush during Roo.
Now it is coming to light that AT&T censored the stream from Bonnaroo too - the Blue Room thing.....The Nightwatchman stream was censored and all the anti-Bush rhetoric was edited out and Tom Morello is trying to find anyone that recorded the censored stream so he can confront AT&T to prove they did it.....

So wait... they censored out all of Morello's anti-Bush talk and whatnot?
so... was this "recording" just a prolonged beep or what? ;D
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
They are my cell service at the moment. I tried to drop em, but it's 175 beans for opting out of my contract. I don't have that kind of loot right now. So it looks like I'm stuck with em till next April
I saw a bit on this on G4 (cable channel about video games and stuff). They harped on the Pearl Jam incident but only alluded to 'two other cases' and never said the b word (bonnaroo). The argument now seems to be all about net neutrality. Does AT&T have a right to cut what they want b/c it's their company and their feed - or does this go against the concept of net neutrality that the internet supposedly upholds? Can you really call it censorship or is it their right to put out what they want to?
For me it mostly comes down to the artist and what their agreement was with AT&T... Anyways, even though they didn't specify what 'the other two cases' were, my husband and I were clapping and very proud of trippindaisy for speaking up! karma!
While I don't like Tom Morello and walked away while he was spouting off - I don't support censorship at all - if I could cancel my cell phones right now - I would - I do know that I have cut my home phone off and will be switching my internet service to another provider as soon as money allows.
