This could be something to be happy about. More likely though, he's just running from this sinking ship to save his own ass. I'm interested to see how much more of an ass Bush makes of himself, now that he doesn't have his human spell check there to correct all his mistakes.
not really wanting to jump in here -(being a political thread and all) but my news here this mroning said that if he did not resign before Labor Day - he would be obligated to serve the remainder of the President's term (until January '09) and that was why he announced now that he would resign as of the end of August.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
I don't know any of the details but I'm not fooled into thinking that ole turdblossom is out of the picture. He may have left the Boosh administration but I find it suspicious that the Rupub bid for President is floundering just as he resigns. Watch out for a new "stragedy" from the GOP, it won't be pretty.

Karl Rove is a political consultant, and it's coming up on an election year. He's not running from his previous job... he's running to his next one. Resigning allows him to work on someone else's campaign without the appearance of any conflict of interest, giving everyone just enough distance to claim 'plausible deniability'. I seriously doubt his connections and influence with Bush/Cheney will be impacted in the slightest.

I concur.
this is why I hate politics so much. Even "good" news isn't really that great...
ya i bet he is just moving on to get the next evil bastard elected. its not all about bush. you cant have evil without an axis. its just too much evil for one family to handle. i suppose its possible that they have some huge scandal coming up and they need him to resign now to get out so they can sacrafice him and then pardon him for whatever they peg on him. but its more likely that hes just moving onto his next simpleton that will sell their soul for some power.
damn when i posted this the ad thing brought up a campaign add for mccain. strange coincidence

yep was even kissing jerry falwells ass. and getting cozy with the bush adinistration. hes a disgrace. and the crazy thing is i think he had a shot at winning. i think hi and colin powell could have gotten elected but they both blew it by getting friendly with the bush's. morons. the difference is i think powell just wanted to serve his country and got the hell out of there when he saw how evil it was. ccain fought them until their evil was aparrent and then decided to join them. what a fool.
^I agree... I mostly liked McCain until all that happened... But he showed that he's going to tow the party line and not stand up. boo.
Since the dems would have to really fvck up to not get elected, I wonder who it's going to be... Saw a funny shirt at tshirt hell with obama and clinton on it that said 'bros before hos'.

lol thats freeking hilarious.
i think its becoming apparent that hilari is going to be the dems choice. and i hope she wins. but it will motivate the religious concervatives to get out and vote like nothing esle can. so i hope it works out. hopefully the religious fanatics dont win again. but in the end i dont see how it matters. its truly a 1 party system. they just argue to keep us distracted from reality and give us the illusion of a multiple party system where we have a choice. in reality they are all part of the same evil machine. and with our corrupt election system your vote means even less then nothing. if you live in a red state and vote blue or the other way around its as if you dont exist and never even voted. its disgusting. but thats what happens in a one party system. they just do a better job of tricking us into think we arent a 1 party system then the communists and dictators do.

In the primaries everone gets sick and tired of the Hillary/Obama rivalry and throws their vote over to somebody else. Prolly Edwards but in my perfect world Biden would get the nomination.
I can't vote Republican, I just can't, so if Hillary is the choice I'll vote for her but I'll do it holding my nose.
im still hoping al gore runs. but its not looking likely. but he would win. and hilari could be vp for 8 years and then be president for another 8. but then we would all just be living under the bush/clinton monarchy for another couple of decades. just in time for jeb, chelsea, and the twins.
The desire for Gore to run is put in the same category as a Phish reunion...
it's a given in any discussion.
lol very true if your around the right kinda people ;D im in northern michigan where they think al gore is the devil and phish is something ya hang on your wall in between the picture of jesus and dale earnhart to brag about like its your pride and joy. and of course none of them even know who karl rove is. but if hes with bush hes a great guy! its just that devil al gore and his evil soldiers trying to ruin the world with peace, science, and a firm grasp on reality. maybe if they payed enough attention to know who karl rove was and comprehend scientific facts they wouldnt just put their heads in the ground because they know the magic guy in the sky will take care of everything. its so silly.
You don't have to tell me about the NASCAR people, I'm in Charlotte, ugh.
The really special ones are the ones who ignore the science because the end is coming anyway and the one's who think kicking some towel-head ass is the only solution
I heard tonight that Rove isn't going to join up with another campaign, but he plans on writing a book(big surprise). That doesn't mean that he won't throw his influence behind someone, but I highly doubt that he's gonna get as involved as he's been the last 30 years. I think Guiliani would get the most out of having Rove on his side. He's a Bush clone, at least in my eyes.
And I just have to say that, I will not, under any circumstances, vote for Billary Clinton. I wouldn't vote for a republican either, unless Ron Paul got the nomination, by some miracle. I really see no difference between Hillary and any of the other god awful flip flopping candidates on the republican side. She wants to be everything to everyone, and will say whatever she has to in order to win. She doesn't seem to stand for anything.
There's a big debate going on in the political blogosphere right now, as to who represents the democratic party. You've got the centrist dems that believe the only way to win is to try and please as many republicans as they can by imitating republicans. Hillary is their girl. Then there are the true liberals, or leftists, that want to run as far from anything that looks, sounds, or smells like a republican. They seem to want true tangible change, not just talking about it, but doing it.......NOW.
The way I see it is Hillary is more of the same. She's apart of the problem. I love Obama. I really hope he can pull it out. If not, then, I don't know what to say about the future of this country. Seems that just when you think there's hope, we just go right back to what is causing our problems. The bloggers do give me hope though.
For those of you that are interested this place has been getting alot of press lately, and I love it.........
I feel the same way about Clinton... As much as I'd love to see a female president, I'd hate it to be her. Obama is wonderful, but I'm afraid he'd be torn apart on the not-enough-experience issue. So my dream ticket is Edwards-Obama. Give Obama some experience to pick up the reins down the road... I got to meet Edwards and I must say I was very very impressed. Though he's not my ideal, I think he's who I'll go with...
Actually have a friend who worked on his campaign last go round... He's a dreamer in my book. Some great ideas, some not so great, but would never get elected, so it's moot. I appreciate that he brings some issues up that are ignored by the majority of the press because they should be talked about, but I just never see it happening for the lil' guy.

You are correct that Obama doesn't have alot of experience. But right now I see that as a wonderful blessing. I too would love the Edwards/Obama ticket. That, to me, seems like the ticket to win for the next 16 years or so. Edwards doesn't seem to be doing so hot though, except in Iowa. I dunno. I have this terrible feeling of foreboding that there's not much that can be done to stop the Hillary train. Obama is right with her with the money, but with the mindless millions that don't take politics seriously, she's way ahead. She's the media's candidate too, it seems. Here's to hope.
