Anyone's SD card should work, although I'd still stick with brand names you know (Sandisk, Samsung, PNY, Lexar). Check your camera's owner's manual to see how much memory it can address... no point getting a 4GB SD card if your camera only recognizes 2GB max.

Shop around too, SD cards are getting dirt cheap - I've seen 2GB for $20.
Yes, definitely shop around. I've seen memory cards recently, where after rebates, they can even come close to being free... and know that a 2GB card holds a LOT of pictures... and a 4 is waaaay off the charts

I think he means the day after Turkeyday, when everything everywhere is on sale at ridiculous prices, but the stores are all jammed with lunatics as well

Black Friday is the friday after Thanksgiving, when stores have big sales and open their doors extra early (5:00am by me). They typically have a lot of 'while supplies last' and '2-for-1' deals.
[edit] I dig Black Friday shopping... I'm one of those lunatics that gets up at 4:00 to get on line at Best Buy to snag those ridiculous deals. We're usually done with our shopping by 9:00am, head over to a sweet little pancake house nearby, then nap 'til 1 or 2 pm .
As everyone has said, read the manual about the size (and maybe brand) of SD card. My cheap Chinese camera (which takes great pics) only handles 512Mb cards and doesn't like some cheaper brands. They randomly don't register as being in and pics are copied to card and hard drive at random.
And SD card hold tons, a 512 Mb card will hold 320 of my 6.6 meg pics (don't ask me how that math works.)

I've been reading the manual online today and all it says is to use an SD card. I also found a nifty little chart that shows how many pictures each card size can hold for my specific camera. The 1GB can hold approximately 286 photos, which is way more than I need. (I'm anal about getting the photos saved to the computer and printed!) I can always buy another down the road...perhaps during Black Friday...if I dare.
Have I told you guys how much you rock with help/info?
