I just tried to label a blank map of the United States, and I got four states wrong!!! I feel like one of those people they show on tv to show how dumb Americans are.

As you know, I tried too. I like to think that I'm pretty good at geography (and not an idiot, in general) but, I missed 6. (I totally forgot that Utah even existed)
When we were waiting in line for Bonnaroo, my friend and I kept trying to make up games to pass the time. One was name all the states. I actually forgot Minnesota and Illinois. Doh.

Don't feel bad guys. At least you know how many states there are. I don't know how many times I've gotten into arguments with people (coworkers at old jobs mostly) who insits there are 51 states!
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
There's an old school restaurant/truck stop on the way back fromt he beach that has placemats that has the first initial of all the states and capitals and you need to fill out and match up. I have been there a handful of times and have yet to get the placemat complete before the end of the meal (and there's always at least 4 of us working on one placemat). Go go public school education! ???

It occurred to me last night, as I was going to sleep... my wife and I, for no reason whatsoever, keep a large map of the United States on the ceiling over our bed. Seriously. I'm sure if that wasn't the first and last thing I saw every day, I wouldn't have done so well. ;D
this site is so addicting! it's a bunch of learning games. the geography ones are actually fun. I like playing the US capitals #2 game the best. I'm a total nerd. anyway, they have games to match US states too, if you want to see how many states you know and where exactly they go.
my mom is a geography teacher, so the capitals are ingrained into my brain. I showed her this site, and she has her students compete for prizes by playing the game.
"I like too many things and get all confused and hung-up running from one falling star to another till I drop. This is the night, what it does to you. I had nothing to offer anybody except my own confusion."
central park in the summertime... the closest thing to nature
took me a long time and i missed Maryland, Deleware, Rhode island and d'oh Oregon. I have a giant map of the world, and the United States in my bedroom so i dont really need to memorize all that crap, right?
