man, i cant imagine leaving because phish was playing sunday... ive never seen them, but they are my number 1 priority on the farm this year. its the only fest that theyre playing at this year, it will be their biggest crowd--and you know theyre gonna throw down. i think its going to to be epic. i understand if theyre not youre cup of tea...it took me awhile to get into phish as well..but i think sonically, as well as visually, it will be stunning.
but i guess if you dont stay, that leaves more room for everyone else...

If there is to be another headliner added for Friday (and I do think its a legitimate consideration), the most likely seem to be Jane's Addiction as they're traveling with NIN anyway and may have that Friday off, and Jay Z who would fit perfectly in the formula Beasties>Headliner>Phish.

well... maybe the "Traditional" headliner spot on friday will be different this year
and Phish will basically be headlining late night? the usual 8-12 slot on What might have some competition this year, maybe Phish will play 10-6, with other late nights starting at 1 AM

i have beastie boys 8-10. phish starting at midnight, but i guess they could start earlier. the other late night shows would start between 10 and 12.
i say that bc we already know nin has a speial spot, so i can't see that special spot being at 7 in the day time before Springsteen... that's just me though
You do realize both Wilco and Ben Harper are scheduled for Saturday as well?

I really think they would have announced Beasties>Phish, Bruce>NIN if that were already set in stone. I really think they are working on somebody big for Friday night. Ya NIN and Beasties are big enough to headline, but I wouldn't say either is as big as Metallica or Pearl Jam. Imagine The Dead>Phish Friday.......wow
Also, if you leave on Sunday before Phish, you will be kicking yourself for the rest of your life. You will not want to be on inforoo anymore, because all you will be reading is how epic the set you missed was....

i think mars volta is going to get either which stage headliner, not late night or they are going to get a tent headliner with a longer set time than usual.

The Dead>>Phish on What Stage Friday would be incredible!
I just realized that for the Phish announcement it says "The Friday show will be a special late night performance" I don't know how you all want to read into that. Maybe it just means that it's the What Stage, maybe it means nothing. Maybe they're playing with NIN? Ha...who knows, just thought I'd bring it up.
I know everyone is talking about JA or JZ being the most likely 3rd headliner if we get one, but what about the dead! Warrens Already going to be at roo so they are not going else where to play with out him! Beasties>DEAD>PHISH!!! TO GOOD TO BE TRUE?
Friday What Stage: Jane's Addiction > Phish (I don't like Phish, but those two would probably work great together) Which Stage late-night: Snoop Dogg/Beastie Boys
Saturday What Stage: Bruce Springsteen > NIN Which Stage late-night: Mars Volta

I think the Dead deserves consideration. I dont necessarily follow the Phil-is-mad stuff since he seemed just fine the day after Kanye when played as scheduled.
ABB, especially if they had a guest of some kind, would also be possible if this does happen. It would be a very nice way to make up for last year's unfortunate cancellation.
I think that's a normal thing. But w/ Clapton, Boz Scaggs, or Dickie Betts (or whoever the else is rumored for Beacon that I cant remember) would make for a hel of a headliner.
I dont see how everyone thinks there would be another headliner added. Beastie Boys>Phish would work perfectly. There not going to add someone to headline that is going to play 3 hours because I dont think Phish will be starting any later then 1 am for their late night. So Beastie Boys plays for 2 hours from say 9:00-11:00 and then Phish starts at 1, seems pretty logical to me.

Warren is a member. And I just checked Clapton. He and Steve Winwood will be in Philly on the 12th

If Beasties are Friday headliners, why didn't they announce that with the other headliners today?
