After watching a special on Paladia, I am convinced that Iron Maiden could put on a great show. Some of you guys may argue but I think they could possibly pull off the Friday night spot. I think they would be much better than RHCP. How bout this:
Friday: Iron Maiden, Daft Punk (Late Night What Stage) Satuday: Rolling Stones, MMJ (Late Night Which Stage) Sunday: Phish
Sounds good to me, also a little more realistic than a lot of other guess's.
More realistic than what? Phish and MMJ are probably more long shots than The Stones and Daft Punk. Not that it's a bad list, but it's like a lot of other guesses besides Iron Maiden.

Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver

Haha what happened to your karma Airline?
I agree, I think there is almost no chance Phish comes back next year. If it's going to be any "jam" band, it will be the Dead. Why would they bring back Phish after they just played two shows. This isn't Phish's fest, it's Bonnaroo.

if MMJ does headline which I really would love to see it would have to be with a Symphony Orchestra to be a big enough show to fill the spot and top the midnight shows of the past.

More realistic than Muse, MBV, or a lot of other bands that have been thrown around.

Did someone mention MBV? That's cool.
But there's no way they headline, and while it would be awesome to see them on the farm I doubt we will next year. I think they're going away for awhile.
For anyone not familiar with My Bloody Valentine, Loveless is possibly the most beautiful album I've ever listened to. Just perfect.
i too would love to see U2 headline next year... but i seriously doubt that it would happen... U2 puts on such a massive and expensive show, that idk if they could make it work on the what stage
please god no
id rather they play rattle and hum in the cinema tent than have U2 play Bonnaroo.

Rattle and Hum and It Might Get Loud would be great choices for the cinema tent.
As I am be payed back for skipping class I couldn't help but let my mind wander. What about Dr. Dre and Friends for a headliner? That would be great and he is supposed to have an album coming out by the end of the year.

Ill give you MBV but i dont know whos been saying that around here. As far as Muse goes i would say they are as likely if not more likely than anyone else. They are going to have a massive summer tour and have stated they will be playing festivals in the US this summer. Thats more than we have got from Iron Maiden, MMJ, Daft Punk, or anyone else.

They are just not big enough to headline, play a festival sure, headline no way. As to the others most bands have not announced their intentions for next year, so it is all speculation.
O no i wasnt trying to say they were going to headline at all. my bad.
ive stated Rolling Stones, The Dead, and RHCP as my choices for a while now.
Muse will be trying to play EVERYWHERE stateside. And as far as the south goes it doesnt get much bigger than Bonnaroo, unless your selling out the Phillips Arena or something.
For the record i like Muse in the late night which stage spot.
edit: and for the record i dont really like muse. would much prefer Arcade Fire in that slot.

Let's not. How about Pavement, if at Bonnaroo, play unopposed. I think it would be almost insulting to have them come play a festival opposed. Jay Z against Pavement would be unreal. I guess I would just be angry at having to miss Jay Z. But I think Pavement may be a possibility even if Coachella is more likely.
Believe me bro there is nothing i would like better than having Pavement headline unopposed. But as soon as i say that a bunch of Brahs are gonna come in here and say they arent near big enough etc.
And i could care less about any rapper outside of Outkast if Pavement is playing.

haha well...
I fuckin' love Pavement, but I still don't see them as a headliner at Bonnaroo. Coachella, yes, without a doubt. Bonnaroo not so much.
I've debated this with you before though...
Maybe I'm underestimating their appeal outside of the indie rock realm, but I don't think I am.

Yep, and guess where Pixies played at Coachella. Subheadliner to Radiohead.
While Pavement looks more likely for Coachella as Spiral Stairs mentions it in the interview, he does say festival(s.) So maybe we will see them at Bonnaroo.

Stephen Malkmus though hasn't stopped making music at any time since the breakup. He's even continued making great albums, this is just a chance to see all the Pavement songs we've been missing all these years.
In terms of reunions at Coachella, that's what makes the festival special (along with other things.) They're able to bring these influential and cult favorite bands out of retirement with big paychecks. Even if they only do one show, it still gives old and new fans a chance to see the band where maybe without Coachella, they wouldn't have gotten that chance.
