The year is still fairly new but there have been some amazing albums already! What are your favorites so far?
My absolute #1 at this point is Beach House's "Teen Dream". Gorgeous.
I'm also really loving Yeasayer - "Odd Blood", Vampire Weekend - "Contra", Spoon - "Transference", Gorillaz - "Plastic Beach", Portugal. The Man - "American Ghetto", Jonsi - "Go", Emancipator - "Safe In The Steep Cliffs". Can't wait to hear what the rest of 2010 has to offer, there's so much potential in the horizon.

1. Local Natives- Gorilla Manor 2. Charlotte Gainsbourg- IRM 3. Surfer Blood- Astro Coast 4. Joanna Newsom- Have One on Me 5. Los Campesinos!- Romance is Boring
I hate the Gorillaz album, and the Spoon is very sub-par for them.
some of my early favs are Nneka - Concrete Jungle, Pat Metheny - Orchestrion, Gil Scott-Heron - I'm New Here, Galactic -Yak-ka-may. but i'm really still catching up with 09.

I'm with you on this. I heard The Whigs new one, In The Dark and I'm loving it. I'd add that to the list too.

I have the 320 off of what I think. I at least have a 320, but it might be transcode because I haven't given it the earphones treatment. If it's a fake someone should get a record deal right now. I've only listened twice, but it was really good.

Yep just saw her in Toronto and it was tremendous. She only played nine songs (about an hour and twenty minutes for her) because of a weird club curfew. They put the house lights up at exactly 9 and the crowd didn't want to leave, so she came out and encored with Baby Birch, which was really great. Emily and In California were other highlights.
Setlist Inflammatory Writ Soft As Chalk In California The Book Of Right On Have One On Me No Provenance Emily Encore - Baby Birch
She had two violinists, ,guitarist/banjo, and drummer on stage, while she would move from piano on the first couple songs to harp. Everything was really precise and carefully orchestrated, it really sounded fantastic.
I don't think I've done a list yet so here goes 1. Caribou- Swim 2. Gorillaz- Plastic Beach 3. Joanna Newsom- Have One on Me 4. Yeasayer- Odd Blood 5. Beach House- Teen Dream 6. Broken Bells- S/T 7. MGMT- Congratulations
It seems like it, but so far my top 5 goes as this.
1. Flying Lotus - Cosmogramma 2. Native - Wrestling Moves 3. Local Natives - Gorilla Manor 4. Joanna Newsom - Have One on Me 5. Jaga Jazzist - One-Armed Bandit

Awesome. No Good Intentions Paving though? You said she played nine songs but only listed eight. Was that the other one? That song is such a monster maybe she's waiting to perfect it before she performs it live.
