Is that real? That was the day they played last year for an after-Voodoo late show. I had tickets and a bunch of people needed to eat and ended up dicking around to the point it would have been encore by the time we could leave to head downtown. They were great at Voodoo, but I think postjack said they were spectacular at Orpheum. If they decided to do it again, I'll be sure to make it this year. Plus it would be Sunday night where Voodoo ends early.

Has anyone ever seen CW Stoneking? I honestly know nothing about him other than he's on Boarding House Reach, and kind of a rare show. It's at the same venue today as Shamir and UMO, I had planned on going to the free CW show, but then remembered that was a thing. Seen UMO twice, have not seen shamir and was bummed i had to miss him at SXSW, but thats a $30 show.

He kind of does old-timey and bluesy stuff. Not far off from Pokey LaFarge or The Devil Makes Three. I'd probably go for Shamir over him but free is free.
He played Newport Folk a year or two ago but I missed his set, so I can't speak much to his show. This looks solid though!

Anyone going to the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill shows? I'm going to need some updates on how late these things are going. With her history of always being late and then she has 3 openers. Are the openers only there so she can be really late and have less people complain?
Friday, Aug. 31 Electric Zoo – New York, NY Saturday, Sept. 1 Riverworks – Buffalo NY Sunday, Sept. 2 New City Gas – Montreal QC Monday, Sept. 3 Echostage – Washington DC Thursday, Sept. 6 Royal Oak – Detroit MI Friday, Sept. 7 Aragon – Chicago IL Saturday, Sept. 8 Armory – Minneapolis MN Tuesday, Sept. 11 The Complex – Salt Lake City UT Thursday, Sept. 13 WAMU – Seattle WA Friday, Sept. 14 Commodore – Vancouver BC Saturday, Sept. 15 Shaw Conference Center – Edmonton, AB Wednesday, Oct. 3 Emo’s – Austin TX Thursday, Oct. 4 Bomb Factory – Dallas TX
Are the openers only there so she can be really late and have less people complain?
Last night was the first night of the tour and I've already found the answer to my question. She was listed as starting at 8:30, she started around 10. MIA was supposed to end at 7:50. So they had to wait over 2 hr for Lauryn after all the openers had played.
