I brought my 14 year old cousin with me for his first record store day. He got 1 (out of 6 available in the store) of the Misfits albums. He's pretty happy about it. Got a blue one though.
I only got Karen Elson 7" The White Stripes 7" and Dr John LP wanted Childish Gambino but some one grabbed it as I was goin for it also JEFF the brotherhood,El Camino, and Gary Clark Jr. but not enough money didnt see the Gary C Jr or have enough moneys for the rest hope some get left for a week til I gets paid again
it was like a free for all at my store when they opened there was like 30 people in line and everyone that could fit in the store did I couldnt even really look around

My store did a good job of only letting a few people in at a time and making sure one person at a time was looking at the RSD releases so it didn't become a big free for all.
I ended up picking up:
Animal Collective - Transverse Temporal Gyrus The Black Angels - "Lonely," "Watch Out Boy," The Flaming Lips - Heady Fwends Jay Farrar, Will Johnson, Anders Parker, Yim Yames - New Multitudes JEFF The Brotherhood - Upstairs at United, Vol. 3 Mastodon/The Flaming Lips - "A Spoonful Weighs A Ton" The Mynah Byrds - "It's My Time"/"Go On And Cry" lady-flower Galore - "Feel Good About Your Body" Preteen Zenith - Preteen Zenith Phish - Junta Eddie Vedder - "Love Boat Captain"/"Wishlist" The White Stripes - "Hand Springs"/"Red Death at 6:14" Futurebirds - SENEY-STOVALL Uncle Tupelo - No Depression Feistodon Jack White - Sixteen Saltines Omar Rodriguez-Lopez - Un Escorpión Perfumado a Pearl Jam live bootleg
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
Feistodon Refused - the shape of punk to come Sigur Ros - Hvarf/Heim Of Monsters and Men 10" Fun - The Ghost that You Are You Be Illin' - Run DMC/Carolina Chocolate Drops Kick Out the Jams - MC5/Afrika Bambaataa Arctic Monkeys - R U Mine
I wasn't planning on getting the White Stripes but when I walked past and saw a few copies my body grabbed it. I couldn't control it.
I did that last year, but alas, no such luck this year. I did end up with Refused, Arctic Monkeys, Ryan Adams and Feistodon though, so it was a good day. Plus, it's always fun to geek out with other wax fanatics.
I didn't really get any of the exclusives, just enjoyed the day in Little Five and fought some crowds for records I have wanted. However, as we were on our way into Wax 'N Facts, we saw Bradford Cox walking towards the store. My girlfriend forced me to get over shyness and I asked him for a picture, and it turned out that he was doing an in-store a few minutes from then. We did a little shopping and enjoyed his set. It was really intimate and awesome. He played some of the stuff from Parallax (which I picked up), and played what he called an interpretation of a dream he had the night before while sleeping in the record store's attic, in which he ascended to heaven and found Bo Diddley sitting in the chair next to Jesus Christ himself, and they commenced to have a guitar-playing beach party. He told us afterwards that he has listened to exclusively Bo Diddley and I secretly hoped that some of that made its way onto the next Deerhunter record. It was a fun day. Anyway, he was really funny and personable after the set and there was a small band playing after him and he let them use his equipment and did a soundcheck for them. It's nice when people whose art you appreciate turn out to be really down-to-earth and friendly.
(Turns out I already had damn Swordfishtrombones. So absent-minded. Anyone wanna trade? Of course I immediately ripped open the shrink-wrapping of everything, as I have since I was a kid. Maybe I should learn to be patient.)
I got the white stripes and flips/mastodon 7 inches and the dead's darkstar 12 inch. I ended up giving up the last phish special edition to the guy behind me, it was gonna be a wedding gift for his buddy who went on tour with him. So if anyone has an extra Junta, I'd gladly take it from you.

I spent $17
Wish I could have spent over a hundred like I did last year though.
Zapp that is awesome that you met Bradford. Even more awesome that he was cool, I've always gotten the vibe from him that's he might be kind of a prick

I ended up spending about $350 because I went back up and bought a couple more things. Last year I had a smaller budget and hated how I had to choose only a few things and miss out on others that I really wanted. So I pretty much saved what money I would normally use on vinyl purchases the last few months and spent it all yesterday. The thing is with the way that each year keeps growing with more and more releases and my local store always seems to get a ton of stuff, I'll probably end up doubling what I spend next year.
